My monitor came in today. Got excited when I open the box but unfortunately the ups guy broke my monitor and I got a crack screen. Too bad I didn't open it when I was receiving it. Returning it tomorrow and hope I can get one in the next few day when they come back in stock.

Maybe someone can help me out. I got this monitor and it was delivered today. I am waiting on my new Gaming PC to be delivered in a few weeks, and have this monitor plugged into my 6 year old HP laptop. Its running at like 1920x1080, but the color is just not good. Washed out looking. Colors not popping at all. I figure its the laptop thats causing the crappy color. I have played around in the INTEL settings, and do not see a option for FULL RGB, so thats out.

Any advice on how to pull more color out of this while I wait for my main PC to get here, or am I stuck with a washed out yellowish image due to a old crappy 1080 video card?
I don't own this monitor but for fun I decided to scan the manual.

Have you

1. Tried changing the color preset mode to "Standard" or "Graphics"? You may want to disable HDR in Windows if you have it enabled as the Windows desktop is still not in HDR I believe
2. From the Picture settings, have you disabled ACM and HDR? Cheap monitors do not generally do a good job of faking contrast and this monitor is too dim to use HDR.

multiple errors on what you claimed and what you shared.
anyway just 2 that stands out
#1 it is NOT under $400
and #2 it is NOT 4k , not sure it is your knowledge on the subject.
Sorry to disappoint you, I thought I was helping.

Hey, BTW, my 1st grade teacher once told me that $399.99 is under $400.00. I am not sure if that is still true to this day. Was my teacher wrong?

And I'm sorry to burst your bubble but there's no such thing as Ultrawide 4k. If you really want to go technical about things, an Ultrawide has ratio of 21:9 while a traditional 4K is 16:9. So my mistake is that I thought you were looking for an UltraWide monitor that accepts 4k input but I should just have went to the fact that you're just ignorant about monitors.

I spent like 4 hours and I still don't understand how the resolution on this monitor work. It listed as 3440 x 1440 but on the monitor setting it's showing it's displaying 3840 x 2160. I tried to select it on my computer and my computer (both Mac and windows) does not list 3440 x 1440 as options

Edit: Nevermind apparently using a HDMI to USB-C adapter fixed the issue.

It was flickering in and out. I was refreshing randomly throughout the day and nabbed it when I posted that. Good luck!

GIGABYTE G34WQC

To be honest, I don't really want to post it here because I haven't gotten mine yet. LOL. It was in stock on Newegg yesterday and because of my stupid procrastination, it is now back ordered. But then, it's almost Christmas and I want to do one good deed by sharing.

Sold out in BestBuy
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/giga...Id=6437138

Back ordered in Newegg
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012017

Review on Reddit comparing this Costco Acer and the GIGABYTE G34WQC.
https://old.reddit.com/r/buildapc...p/gbs45on/

Tons of reviews on YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/results?s...YTE+G34WQC

It's $400 BTW and not $350
Thanks for the info. Don't really wanna order this from Newegg due to painful returns and sketchy reviews on Gigabyte reliability. Would be open to Best Buy and of course Costco would be best if they had it.

Monitor arrived 3 days ago.
Using 3700x/RTX1050
Been playing WoW LOL on mid settings.
Quick COD on low-med ish settings.

monitor doing well.
colors are little colder than other dell VA panels.
lack of height adjustment on the stand is little annoying, but not big deal.

for $350 bucks. great monitor. at least until now.
hopefully i can nab 3080/70 or 6800xt and really turn up the settings

You're fine I'm same situation but you can return whenever. You'll need to update display driver and adjust the monitor settings/increase brightness.

Lol UPS Delivered in NYC - I ordered 2 and had a hole in 1 of the monitor box and there was no Styrofoam where it was punctured - was really worried so I opened and thankfully no damage to the screen.

I bought the Gigabyte one at Best Buy. It worked for 20 minutes and died... What a waste of my coupon. So I bought the Acer. Only negative so far is the height is not adjustable. Will get it hooked up soon to try it out. The stand is sorta wired thou.

Got this, honestly for the price point it's worth it. Definitely mess with the settings, if you have a faded look, lower the black boost to close to 0 adjust the gamma, the default it had was too high for my liking lowered it to 1.8 and keep messing with the colors.

I haven't had any problems with mine so far, the only thing I had problems on is I have to find a new dual monitor arms because this thing is huge.

I actually dug into this pretty deep and I do not think this is true regarding the returns. The product page says:
After receiving the item, contact seller within: 30 days
Refund will be given as: Money Back
Return shipping: Seller pays for return shipping
Refer to eBay Return policy for more details. You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee if you receive an item that is not as described in the listing.

Then if you look at the eBay return policy it states:
If your item arrives damaged, doesn't match the listing description, or is the wrong item, you can return it for a refund. If you've changed your mind and want to return it, you can ask the seller if they'll accept a return.

So if something is wrong with your product, yes you might have better luck with the added eBay level of protection versus ordering straight from Newegg. However, if you want to return just because you don't like it, sounds like Newegg can still say no.

Hope this helps anyone. I have not tried the Gigabyte, but had an older Asus MX34VQ ultrawide and also have an HP Omen 27i which has LG's Nano IPS panel (considered one of the best for a monitor at the moment.

I received this yesterday and compared it a bit to my older ultrawide. I can say it is much brighter than my last ultrawide, and the colors blow it away. OSD can be annoying to use, but has plenty of calibration options and even lets you choose color space (sRGB, P3, etc.) The blacks are slightly better on this monitor, but it has a bit less even backlight bleed vs my old ultrawide. I believe I won't see this in normal content, but have to test more.

The 144hz and response is better than my previous monitor with 100hz as well, and I find ghosting/smearing fine. Please note despite playing games alot, I am not a competitive player, but do play COD and such.

Overall, I'm pretty happy so far and just need to test if gsync works fine with the games I play and if the backlight bleed affects normal content. Aside from that, this is a winner and I do not see the point in spending 800+ on the equivalent IPS monitor.

As others have noted, the OSD buttons are a pain compared to a joystick control. You can also make some of the changes via the Acer Display Widget (which is also a bit antiquated).

The application can be downloaded from this page ...
