Calibration was aiming for 6500K with gamma set to 2.2. So I calibrated with a brightness of 40, contrast 50, black boost 5. Color 2.2, color temp set to User, R Gain 48, G Gain 47, B Gain 47.

It's said you can adjust brightness without affecting the temperature or colors much. Rtings calibrates at 100 nits actually (for those that don't know).

Uploaded the .icm file and the DisplayCal report post-calibration.

I can try to calibrate again under the Warm color temperature setting. I think it should be more universal, and at 6600K it's already close to my target of 6500K. Just keep in mind the whole procedure takes roughly an hour, so give me a day or two if anyone is interested.

Slickdeals site doesn't allow me to upload .icm files, so I uploaded to Google Drive.

I looked into this and general consensus is that this WILL NOT work. Most Costco employees online are saying they are told not to honor price adjustments for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and sales for items purchased beforehand. Of course, you can risk it but there isn't any guarantee you will get the price adjusted (most said if the item goes out of stock, Costco will definitely not price adjust).

This deal is super tempting but I will play it safe and hold out to the 30th just in case a similar Dell monitor goes on sale.

Edit: also found out that even using the Costco Visa Rewards CC will not qualify your purchase for the price rewind. It only applies to other stores' prices, not to Costco.

1) Depending on how old the PC (video card) is, it might not either be able to support higher than 1920, OR it might not be recognizing the monitor's resolution capabilities, and limiting to a default ceiling.

2) Because the native resolution is 3440x1440, every resolution that isn't perfect integer multiple to that, or put black bars on the sides to shrink screen size, will look fuzzy...no way around it unfortunately.

I have this exact monitor, been using it since July and I LOVE it. Paired with my 2080 Ti + Gsync + 144 Hz and I get 100+ FPS or higher on ultra high quality settings for my games (in a 10900K rig).

I am using HDMI for the PC. It might be the older gfx card...I tried it with my Macbook Pro, and it pops the resolution to double what it lists as native resolution, once the signal finally reads. Signal took 2 tries to catch, and once it does, the system reads it as a 107" monitor (!!!) 6880x2880. Perhaps it's a crappy HDMI cable as well? I am using the included one.

i appreciate this! I think you may be right about the gfx card. but I am testing on my macbook pro, and it pops resolution to 2x native, so 6880x2880 and pulls monitor up as a 107". No joke. I am so confused.

I think I'm going to return this and try out the LG 35in from Costco. There is something about the display that I just dislike. For some reason it hurts my eyes unless I dim it all the way. In terms of screens, I really enjoy the retina display on my MacBook. I even prefer windows Lenovo carbon x1 display over this. I'm sure this will be great for gaming tho, very vibrant colors.

Are you sure it is the same one? The spec sheets show this Monitor was released in August.

Totally agree with you, it is an awesome monitor!

After your post I went digging for my own laptop specs before ordering. My display port puts out higher res than my HDMI. So you may want to switch. Mine is a mini-display so I'll need an adapter but plan to try that on whatever I purchase. Best wishes- keep us posted! Lots of us out there with aging machines.

Since we're not sure if this is coming back in stock, I found this [shopmyexchange.com]monitor available via AAFES (Military Only) for $399 - $50 Black Friday Coupon = $349 (free shipping no tax). While it's not 3440x1440 (it's 2560x1080) does it it even make a difference since it's ultrawide? Product link here [lg.com] for those that aren't military. I noticed it doesn't have USB-C, the stand height is adjustable, and it's G-Sync not FreeSync.

A few additional questions as I'm looking to replace 2 x 23" office monitors with 1 x 34" ultrawide: 1) Is moving to a single ultrawide monitor recommended (can it easily replicate the dual monitor functionality & feel on Windows 10 via Snap/other) for non-gaming/office functions? 2) Is it recommended to avoid a docking station and plug the monitor directly into the laptop via HDMI? 3) Do I really need a 3440x1440 with 144hz for office work?

Thanks in advance for the input.

Just got this monitor after my Gigabyte 34 inch died after 20 minutes of use. I also have a Dell 32 inch gaming VA panel monitor I gave my son. I wasn't expecting much for 349.99, but I ate my words. So blown away by this monitor. Super impressed especially HDR mode. For a 400 HDR it looks so much better than my similar Dell at 400 HDR. The Acer can be set to HDR mode via the monitor and/or Acer widget software. Trick is not to enable HDR via Windows. Assassin's Creed Valhalla looks amazing. It's a blessing in disguise I'm glad my Gigabyte monitor broke.

Only negative is it doesn't come with display port cables and it's not height adjustable. I had to buy a nice wide glass monitor stand and DP 1.4 cable from Amazon.
