Sure thing. Just spread some rep if you can Wink

Calibration was aiming for 6500K with gamma set to 2.2. So I calibrated with a brightness of 40, contrast 50, black boost 5. Color 2.2, color temp set to User, R Gain 48, G Gain 47, B Gain 47.

It's said you can adjust brightness without affecting the temperature or colors much. Rtings calibrates at 100 nits actually (for those that don't know).

Uploaded the .icm file and the DisplayCal report post-calibration.

I can try to calibrate again under the Warm color temperature setting. I think it should be more universal, and at 6600K it's already close to my target of 6500K. Just keep in mind the whole procedure takes roughly an hour, so give me a day or two if anyone is interested.

Slickdeals site doesn't allow me to upload .icm files, so I uploaded to Google Drive.

I looked into this and general consensus is that this WILL NOT work. Most Costco employees online are saying they are told not to honor price adjustments for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and sales for items purchased beforehand. Of course, you can risk it but there isn't any guarantee you will get the price adjusted (most said if the item goes out of stock, Costco will definitely not price adjust).

This deal is super tempting but I will play it safe and hold out to the 30th just in case a similar Dell monitor goes on sale.

Edit: also found out that even using the Costco Visa Rewards CC will not qualify your purchase for the price rewind. It only applies to other stores' prices, not to Costco.

Bought 2 and shipping quickly to LA.

These are mounted using the "VIVO Dual Computer Monitor Desk Mount Stand Vertical Array for 2 Screens up to 27 inches (STAND-V002R)" - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Waiting on 2nd DP 1.4 cable which will arrive tomorrow.

Definitely happy with how these turned out.
Would these be too wide to place side by side?
Also is this too tall using your vertical setup?

Do you guys do 125% or 150% for text upscaling so fonts are easier to read? or do you leave it at default of 100%?
I run it at 100%, but if I sit farther back, I would need to go up to 125%

no fix for that then? was planning to get a 1.4 display port, might stick with ivanky 1.2 if that won't be a problem.
Update: While I wait for the new DP cable, I tested last night with a HDMI cable. The flicker seems to be gone, but refresh rate tops at 100hz. Also with the HDMI cable, text looks a little blurry (didn't notice this before with my old DP cable)

I updated drivers for both graphics card and monitor, and tried pretty much everything I could with software and monitor settings. It's worth mentioning, I tried a 165hz 1080 Asus Tuf gaming monitor (picked up at walmart for $179), and Freesync works flawlessly no flicker whatsoever (with the same cables). So this is not a problem with every VA panel. Of course, 1920x1080 is a lot less pixels than 3840x1440 so I still will give this monitor the benefit of the doubt until I can try another cable.

The cable I ordered is DP 1.4, I'll test it tonight and report back. But I have a feeling I'll end up returning this Acer monitor.

Also, some people on this thread get defensive every time someone posts about a problem with this monitor. Are you guys Acer PR or what? lol.... Obviously experiences vary from person to person, and there's the chance some of us got defective panels so no need to get defensive we're just trying to add to the discussion. Cheers!

If you have the old displayport cable, try 120hz and see if there's any difference.

I would say no because it's also a VA panel and has a slower response time. The LG monitor has a 5ms response time vs 1ms. Also, the LG is 100hz vs 144hz. If you're not a gamer, shouldn't matter too much. Only benefit I see on the LG is the cables and an extra inch.

Samsung and LG are known for great screens. Wonder if Acer makes its own screen or they essential come from the same manufacturers. If not, I would like to just go with Samsung or LG brands.

It seems the LG is slightly larger, but only does HDR10 and the Acer does HDR400.

The LG may be better for general computer work with some gaming. The Acer would be the best of both worlds.
