Sure thing. Just spread some rep if you can

Calibration was aiming for 6500K with gamma set to 2.2. So I calibrated with a brightness of 40, contrast 50, black boost 5. Color 2.2, color temp set to User, R Gain 48, G Gain 47, B Gain 47.

It's said you can adjust brightness without affecting the temperature or colors much. Rtings calibrates at 100 nits actually (for those that don't know).

Uploaded the .icm file and the DisplayCal report post-calibration.

I can try to calibrate again under the Warm color temperature setting. I think it should be more universal, and at 6600K it's already close to my target of 6500K. Just keep in mind the whole procedure takes roughly an hour, so give me a day or two if anyone is interested.

Slickdeals site doesn't allow me to upload .icm files, so I uploaded to Google Drive.

I looked into this and general consensus is that this WILL NOT work. Most Costco employees online are saying they are told not to honor price adjustments for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and sales for items purchased beforehand. Of course, you can risk it but there isn't any guarantee you will get the price adjusted (most said if the item goes out of stock, Costco will definitely not price adjust).

This deal is super tempting but I will play it safe and hold out to the 30th just in case a similar Dell monitor goes on sale.

Edit: also found out that even using the Costco Visa Rewards CC will not qualify your purchase for the price rewind. It only applies to other stores' prices, not to Costco.

Download the Acer Display Widget, you can change the setting that way.
What kind of setting did you talk about? Will it help to verify if I got a good one or bad? Please advise. Thanks!

Got mine today. Not sure what to say. I don't get the whine, I hate the stand, but after using the LG for a good week, I find that this one hurts my eyes. No, no idea why. It's just unpleasant to look at.
When you adjust the brightness to 100, can you hear the whining sound? I could hear mine when the brightness was adjusted to more than 60~70. Thanks!

I've had mine set up for a day now and am not quite sold on it yet. I can't get the right resolution from my laptop, so everything is a tad blurry as expected. I'm supposed to be getting a dock in to fix that. On my home PC, it looks pretty good, but I can't get it to work off displayport for some reason. HDMI works fine, but displayport gives me a no signal error.

Got this monitor yesterday... A few more datapoints:

1.) My monitor does not experience any buzzing.
2.) It is slow to turn on from power off state(10 seconds), but it is not slow to turn on from sleep. It takes about 4 seconds to switch inputs.
3.) The monitor is super bright, but color accuracy seems decent.
4.) HDR mode and speakers are completely useless.
5.) The stand sucks.
6.) Freesync works great with a NVidia gfx card/gsync.

No, I never heard any whining sound, and while I'm getting older, I tend to be able to pick up on such things. I listened for it specifically because of the complaints in this thread.

Of course, I also had to take the brightness down to ~30-40 because anything else was like having a spotlight shined in my eyes. I've already taken it off my desk and put the LG back on.

I have a 3080..

How did you enable it? When I go into Nvidia control panel -> Set up G-SYNC:

1. Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatiable
-Enable for full screen mode

2. Select displays (ACEREI342CKR)

3. Display Specific Settings:
-Enable settings for the selected display model

(I) Selected Display is not validated as G-SYNC Compatible

It looks like it is enabled correctly. Nvidia validates a number of freesync displays to be gsync compatible, but not all freesync displays that work with gsync have that certification from nvidia. This monitor is one of them. I also have the same message.

You can tell it is working, by displaying FPS in your game and enabling the "Refresh Rate Num" under Gaming in the monitors OSD. The refresh rate on the monitor should constantly update to match the FPS. Make sure VSYNC in the game settings is turned off and you are in full screen mode. Also make sure FreeSync is enabled in the Monitors OSD under Gaming.

Man, I really want to like this monitor, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it for the following reasons:
  1. It hurts to look at and I can't figure out why. I've spent time adjusting all of the display settings, but in the end, I am simply tolerating it. This kinda sucks for a monitor I'll be using for 12 hours a day.
  2. I'm pretty sure I have the whine. It's subtle and I could probably ignore it, but I may try a replacement to see if it makes a difference.
  3. It can't properly scale 16:9 inputs. Instead of scaling it up and putting black borders on the sides, it stretches the 16:9 input to 21:9 instead. You would expect the "Aspect" mode to handle this case, but it displays 16:9 input in neither 16:9 nor 21:9, it is closer to 4:3, which seems entirely broken.
  4. The speakers suck, they are very quiet at maximum volume. This won't affect most people, but if you're hoping to hook up a game console, it's something to know.

THANK YOU. I thought I have a defective unit or is just missing something but I got the same issue with 16:9 inputs. It just stretches it vertically not horizontally. Haven't been able to get anyone from Acer to help me with it. I'm happy with the monitor otherwise, but if this issue can't be fixed via firmware update of some kind I'll probably end up returning it too.

Tried mine for a couple hours last night. I have an AW3418DW which I love and have been looking for another 34 UW so I can go back to using dual 34s. Tested the Acer with COD CW as that's what I've been playing lately. I forgot to check the gsync settings as I'm using a 3080, but there seemed to be a lot of smearing and general lack of smoothness in game. Monitor and game settings were on 144hz. 3080s get between 110-120 FPS in CW with RT and DLSS enabled and all settings on Ultra, so a good match for both screens, but the Alienware looks and plays 10x better. Maybe there was some settings I overlooked but I think I just prefer IPS displays. I gave my MSI 34 UW to my girlfriend to use for work which is a 100hz VA panel and I had similar issues with it in games. Not bad by any means, just not on the same level as a good IPS for my preference. May give it another try before returning but we'll see. Didn't notice any coil whine on mine at all.

When you said no coil whine, have you tried to adjust the brightness to above 70 and listen close to the monitor in a quiet place? If not, could you please try that for me? I wonder I should return mine. Thanks!

there is a faint buzzing noise at some of the resolutions. but you get used to it i guess....

i actually got 2 of them ... the second arriving today.

While the original plan was to use two of them, the stand sucks (much lower than any other stand out there), and compared to a 16:9 32" samsung screen the colors are ... off.

i dont know... i just dont want to really goto the costco return lines.... as i know thats going to be a slow and long grind during the pandemic.
