What are the best deals on Blu Ray players this year, including 4k players? It seems like Blu Ray players have become a low profile item that stores do not advertise much with Black Friday really being they only time they are seen on sale.

Best Buy has advertised some. Discuss the Best Buy deals and other deals (if any).

I have one worth over $2,000 I am tempted to sell, but also tempted to just open and sue it. lol.

Yeah, it sucks that now so many people watch digital movies that any of us who want to watch discs are screwed over with less choices... I haven't kept up with them in a while due to my expensive ones I already own. Usually I think most are close to equal, though. The main reason I keep hanging on to the expensive ones is they have zoom. So annoying that no current players have it anymore!

I guess my actual need is for a Blu Ray player (to replace a cheap LG where the disc tray doesn't always open up) that does a good job of upscaling regular (non-4K) Blu Ray discs and DVDs to 4K (for a 4K TV) as I have tons of DVDs and Blu Rays and only own one 4K disc.

So, I don't need a 4K player per se, though it would be nice to have one if the price were right and it made sense overall. My TV supports Dolby Vision (and as far as I know does not support HDR 10+).

So which ones upscale DVDs and regular Blu Rays best and which are on sale?

TV is the65" Hisense 65H6570F [rtings.com] that I bought at last year's BF for about $276 shipped after taxes (thanks to a 10% rewards deal from Retail Me Not and 5% back via Chase card if I remember correctly). It has Dolby Vision and supposedly HDR 10 support (but not HDR 10+ unless it was added in an automatic firmware update and I have no idea how I'd figure out if it were).

BUMP. Whelp, the ads are all out. Are there any deals at all on Blu Ray players? Are the margins for them really so razor thin that they don't get put on sale?
