The battery usually is $99. If you add to the tool you get both for $99!

The non-HP 4ah is currently $79 for a 2-pack, so buying that and the $49 blower is potentially a little better unless you need the charger also.

If you need 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 4ah battery, HD has it 2-Pack for $79 which is much cheaper than Amazon $1xx. Search for Internet #306703572

Gah, I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, seems like a great deal, but on the other, buying a new 18V tool in 2020, almost 2021? I have tons of Ryobi 18V tools, but I'm a bit leery of buying this late in the product cycle, when you've got 40V, 60, even 80V stuff out there (and of course higher/better batts to come).

My other issue is that I have a likely old school Ryobi One+ battery, but it doesn't show 4ah anywhere on it (but is about twice the size of my other two Ryobi One+ batts, so I assume it IS 4ah).

Can anyone advise:
1. Why I should buy tools @18V this late in product cycle
2. Obviously my only One+ big battery is old, and probably doesn't have the same power/charge it used to. (not even sure what it's original power was!). In this case, would the better deal be to get the tool + battery combo for $100 (basically making the battery $50), OR buy TWO additional 4ah batts for $80 (and then the bare tool on top of that). But all of a sudden, from the $50 I wasn't even planning to spend (Big Grin), now we are talking about either $100, or $130! For VERY old battery tech!

Argh...someone convince me (either for or agin'!)

There's so many 18V tools in their ecosystem, including several that were only recently released, that I don't see them entirely dropping support for the 18V system any time soon. Regardless, it's hard to go wrong on the tool for $49. Now if you do need the batteries, I think the $49 tool + the 2-pack of batteries is the better deal provided you already have a charger.

Thanks for that! I've spent the last 30m down the rabbit hole of cordless lawn tools...and realized that I should probably (especially for a leaf blower, of all tools), just use the 80V batteries I already have for my Greenworks lawnmower and buy their bare tool leaf blower. It's more than double this @$125, but it's also about double the performance (at least on paper).

Since I've only had kind of low power cordless leaf blowers prior to now, I guess it's about time to bite the bullet and get a good one. Thanks again for advice.

I don't see the 18v line going anywhere anytime soon either. If you're on Ryobi's promotional list they recently sent out an email with several new 18v tools that have been or will be released in the near future. Among the new tools that are released or are being released there is a new version of the jet blower (model # P21100VM). Supposedly a quieter and more powerful jet blower. Maybe because they released a new model that is why we are seeing the older model going for cheaper now?

Here's the link to what looks like the newer version (with battery & charger):

lesson learnt today with a Greenwork 80v pro backback blower. It is more than double CFM than this one. However, it is a toy compare to my neighbor's Billy Goat. This type of blower is good for small work or finishing up big project for tight spaces. You will need a walk behind gas blower with more than 1000 CFM if you want to deal with leaves.

It's crashing for me as well so I opened up slickdeals in a browser and it works fine. Was able to get one of these ordered for $49.99 plus tax using zip code 77035. Thanks OP!

What size batteries are you guys using with this blower? I'm thinking 4AH minimum.

looks like this has a design issue. may photos in the review post pictures of the red impeller disintegrating. hard plastic is used, so it's just a matter of time. go bad, had a very good blow speed.

This or save up and get the 410 cfm 18 volt version with 4ah battery? I do not have any 4 ah batteries, only the 1.5ah that came with the drill. Will be using it to blow leaves, sometimes wet on a half acre property. I have a corded worx 200 cfm that is ok, but would like something better and everyone's opinion. Thanks!

I have this model (bought it a few months ago). I also bought the 18V brushless one. This one is MUCH better. Although the brushless one has better specs, it is much slower to spin up the motor, the trigger isn't as nice, and if you want to full power you have to pull the trigger AND press an awkward TURBO button. I send the brushless back.

I only share the above in case anyone is on the fence about getting this or holding out for the more expensive 18V brushless. GET THIS.

I got in on this deal to reduce my cost $50 and return the one I paid $99 for.

thanks OP.
Thank you, this put me over the edge to buy. I am all about trying to get brushless Ryobi for a song when possible, but my brushed Ryobi trimmer and "hard surface" blower have served me well for 8 years...now the blower is just not powerful enough for my needs. Had my eye on this one, the firsthand experience over the brushless was immensely helpful!
