I ordered a Pixel 4A 5G phone and plan to trade in my Google Pixel. However, I don't want the deal if they don't accept my pixel as a trade-in. The phone has no cracks and works great but I have no idea if it will show water damage. I have had it out in the rain at times and humid weather too. So, even though I can't recall any big water incident, it's hard to be sure. I looked up how to check for water damage. I took out the sim card and tried to look inside for the water damage red line. It is really hard to tell. I even took out a magnifying glass under a light. I do see a bit of red in there, but not sure. And, I won't know if they accept it till after I get the phone. If you go into a T-Mobile store, will they tell you on the spot if they will accept it? If that is the case, I think I may cancel my phone order and do it at a store,

Thoughts?

I don't see any Pixels older than the 3/3a/3xl on the "Tell Us About Your Trade-In" part of the checkout process... Am I dumb? Anyone know what's up? Trying to trade in my Pixel 2.
For the first dropdown (carrier), choose "Google - generic" and then the rest will flow correctly

Google FI increased trade in values for Apple and Samsung phones upto $500 for limited time. For some models, its better deal on google FI. Just traded my Iphone XR for $490.

Any idea when this promotion ends? Can't find any answers on the promo page, so probably not... Wondering how long I can wait to see if other Pixel 4a/5g/5 deals come up... this is extremely tempting though...

Currently have a Pixel 2 XL that is only 1 year old, so I hate to trade it in--would rather keep as a back up. What would be the cheapest listed phone I could buy to do the trade in? I see a Pixel on Ebay for around $80.

There are more differences than just having 5g. The 4a 5g has a bigger screen (6.2" vs 5.8"), significantly bigger battery (3885 mAh vs 3140mAh), a 16MP wide-angle camera like the Pixel 5 has, and better chipset. And at $250 (after trading in a phone), it's $100 cheaper than the 4a stock price.

That's precisely why I finally pulled the trigger. The bigger screen and battery are the deal makers. The $250 price point is unparalleled.

It really depends on the evaluator. They have the assessment checklist and I believe deep scratches are listed as making the phone unacceptable. That said, I had phones like that making me worry about the trade in so I went to a Tmo store to have a CSR pre-assess and make notations on the account. The guy ok'd my one phone that had really deep scratches that almost looked like hairline cracks on the screen. Glad I did the pre-assessment in store because I packed the trade in phones really well to send by mail then the evaluator sends these pics with my trade ins all jacked up and telling me I need to accept reduced value or cancel the trade in. Like WTF. But since I did the pre-eval and my account was notated that the phones were acceptable trade-ins, I was able to get the full trade in value after accepting the reduced trade in value and calling Tmo.

Just call before you go down to the retail store and ask for the person you spoke to. Pretty easy to figure out over the phone the CSR's vibe and disposition/willingness to do the pre-eval.

If you went to the store, why didn't you just buy the new phone and do the trade-in at that store?
