Just an FYI, this was posted yesterday on reddit:

Mint mobile agent just told me that tomorrow will be a Black Friday sale for new members of buy 3 months get 3 free... But the device you're using cannot have been active on Mint Mobile for 91 days. So even if you order a new SIM or phone number it's the device you are using that will determine if you are eligible for the sale price.

So if you are using google voice and renewing with a new number the discount might not work.

Unlimited Data: Unlimited means speeds will be reduced to a max of 128Kbps after >35GB/mo. or use of GB allotment for the remainder of the billing cycle. 1 month equals 30 days. Partial megabytes rounded up. Unlimited on handset and network only

Is Mint's service better than than of Cricket in large dense cities such as New York, Chicago, and Miami?

Need to add "runs on T-Mobile network" so the title would be "Mint Mobile[/URL] (runs on T-Mobile network) has for New Customers: Buy 3 Months Get 3 Months Free: Plans from $15 per/mo.

yes!

California - total w/fees and taxes in Cali for me was $99.25 for me for the unlimited 3 month plan. With a certain cashback website you can get 20$ cash back.

Comes out to $13.21 /month for 6 months. Pretty good deal.

your math is incorrect. If you are paying $90 ($30 times 3) for unlimited data and it is for 6 months then $90 divided by 6 is $15 per month.

That's not bad. So the $30 unlimited plan for 3 months is $11 in taxes for all 3 months or just 1 month. If $11 is taxes, that is only about $3.50 each month in taxes which isn't all that bad.
It was $11 for the entire plan period, which was 6 months; 3 months paid and 3 months free. Not sure if they changed me taxes on the free months or not, so it might have been $3.50 a month or it might have only been $1.75. When we had the free year of sprint deal the taxes were similar so I thought Mint's were pretty fair overall.

I just tried it on their website and this is what came up for this deal in Maryland on the 8 gig plan:

Product Total
3 MONTH, 8GB PLAN - SIM KIT × 1 $60.00
Subtotal $60.00
Shipping
2-3 Day Shipping: $0
(Arrives on 11/19)
Recovery Fee $5.25
Recovery Fee
The Recovery Fee is assessed to help recover Mint Mobile's costs to comply with various federal and state programs, taxes and fees. It also includes a flat fee per transaction to help recover other administrative fees. Visit Mint Mobile's Plans Terms & Conditions for more information.

Taxes & Surcharges $1.53
Total $66.78

So $6.78 in taxes for six months of service.

I enjoy that I was sent an email for this promo as a current customer (i.e. "look at this deal you're not eligible for!!!")

I had the same question. I purchased my unlimited kit on November 2 and was going to activate it later this month.

I asked the CS and they said you have to purchase the sim kit after the promo was announced to be eligible even if the kit was not activated yet.

You can request a refund and rebuy was their recommendation..
This sucks!
Return refund may not be a good option for those who used Amex as it will invalidate the credit.

Ummmm how can you stack a referral link with a CB site? Seems impossible to me, as you have to choose one link or the other. Hmmm?

I just ported in this weekend on Friday night. My account only showed 3 months. Saturday afternoon I got the email that my account would be extended 3 more months after my first three months are up.
Switched from T-Mobile prepaid and service is as good if not better as far as data speed.

If you insert a Mint SIM into a phone that permanently locks itself to the carrier of the SIM that is first inserted, will the phone (not plan) lock to the T-Mobile or Mint network?

I wonder if the free sim that came with the recent walmart pixel 4a deal also qualify for extra 3 months.
