Just an FYI, this was posted yesterday on reddit:

Mint mobile agent just told me that tomorrow will be a Black Friday sale for new members of buy 3 months get 3 free... But the device you're using cannot have been active on Mint Mobile for 91 days. So even if you order a new SIM or phone number it's the device you are using that will determine if you are eligible for the sale price.

So if you are using google voice and renewing with a new number the discount might not work.

Unlimited Data: Unlimited means speeds will be reduced to a max of 128Kbps after >35GB/mo. or use of GB allotment for the remainder of the billing cycle. 1 month equals 30 days. Partial megabytes rounded up. Unlimited on handset and network only

Ummmm how can you stack a referral link with a CB site? Seems impossible to me, as you have to choose one link or the other. Hmmm?
That did not work for me. The referral paid out but the cashback was denied.

With regards to the IMEI clause, does anyone know when the additional promo credit will be applied to the account?

I am planning to loan a spare phone from my friend. Can I activate the number and switch it back to my original (currently mint + voice) phone after a week or so?

If you insert a Mint SIM into a phone that permanently locks itself to the carrier of the SIM that is first inserted, will the phone (not plan) lock to the T-Mobile or Mint network?
I never heard of a sim card locking a phone.

Is there any advantage in service between Mint and T-Mobile... I think I heard that T-Mobile has access to partner cell towers and that mint only uses T-Mobile's towers.

I wonder if you could activate it on a different phone and then switch it back. The current SIM I'm using works on both phones with no problems whatsoever.

I have been a Mint customer for more than a year. I live in the surrounding area of Dallas and the lte signal can be spotty at time and out right not working a few times a month, so if you live somewhere remote or crowded maybe, and require constant and stable lte signal, beware.

Now you do. When phones are sold in the US, there is an option for a carrier to have what's called "Carrier Flex Policy" under which Apple locks the phone to the first SIM inserted in the phone. So, as an example, if T-Mobile orders 1 million iphones from Apple for T-Mobile, Sprint, and Boost, it could choose to have them with the "Carrier Flex Policy". This way, when they are sold to the customer (T-Mobile/Sprint/Boost), the phone locks to the carrier of the SIM that was sent with the phone.

Mint rides on the T-Mobile network so what applies to Mint applies to T-Mobile as well. So which carrier offers good coverage for your area? Verizon, ATT or neither? Because if they don't, then, unfortunately, the problem is that none of the carriers think your area is worthwhile for investment.
