Is it worth the extra $200? Or Stick to S5max.

Wondering the same. But I don't think S5max ever went to $399? Lowest was $440 about a couple months ago.

This one has two cameras, which means it can see depth. I would assume this is better if you have trouble with your robot getting tangled in things.

I ordered the Deebot T8+ earlier in the week but I'm starting to question my purchase after reading tomsguide's review - specifically about sub-par performance on hardwood. They specifically mentioned Roborock S6 MaxV as a better alternative.

Anyone have real-life comparison? I have a single-story, ~1500sqft place with about 70:30 split of hardwood:carpet/rug.

don't buy this if you have carpet. the brushbar overloads on short soft pile carpet and doesn't spin. they added a carpet mode that automatically boost suction and silences the stuck brushbar alert so you can't hear the brushbar stopping.

buy any other model if you have carpet.

bought this during prime day using all the prime promo credits i earned and noticed how it would run over dog hair on carpet and left it undisturbed..... then found out there's a common known issue where the brushbar motor is too weak and overloads on pretty much 99% of carpet including short pile. confirmed looking at the brushbar through the bin when it was running.

pretty mad that i had to return it and lost all my prime day credits

you don't want this if you have carpet. stick with the t8

google "s6 maxv brushbar carpet" and you'll see all the reports and confirmations from people noticing the brushbar doesn't run on carpet.

I'd say it is. I got it last time around when it was $600 and I love it. Seems like this goes to $600 consistently and s5 maxV goes to $439 consistently. But I think the AI object avoidance is worth the extra bit, especially if you have pets.

I have hardwood and prefer the T8 (have both). I run them both on max setting only though.

Thank you, both. I'll keep the T8 for now.

Picked up regular S6 for $430-ish yesterday on Amazon. Seems like a good sweet spot.
