R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

Just placed an order for two lines. For some reason it didn't ask for account number or pin on second line. Did I mess that up somehow? The person sd4less or whatever that name mentioned earlier is fast, got a boost number today and yesterday.

you may have to contact customer service to update the account number and pin for the 2nd line.

As a data point for porting from Visible - I've tried twice now to port two Visible numbers. Both got the orders cancelled. I tried again and then chatted with an agent. She said the information was incorrect. I gave both port details to her again in the chat, and she confirmed they went thru and I should receive phones on Monday or Tuesday at latest. Fingers crossed!

That is normal. You should get an email to update this info. If you dont get the email ask chat to check on your port info & update that way.

I think most all ebay sellers port numbers work, but some might not be available 24/7 to complete order. My trick is to email the sellers to see if they are available before I purchase.

'Referral code... enter after activation (creating new account after you received the phone)

ssn, 0000
zip code... your port number zip code I believe.
