Don't do it! These cameras are trash. I am extremely unhappy with my purchase but am stuck with all 8 of my cameras. Terrible range, terrible night vision, terrible motion detection.
That's BS! I live in a 4 story house over 3000sqft and I have zero issues. They work way better than Ring or Arlo and I have had both. In fact these replaced an overpriced Arlo system.
Also, you bought them on Amazon so why didn't you return the cameras??? Dude you need help
I have a 2500 SQ ft home and moved the sync module around the entire home. Their claim of 65 foot range is BS. Couldn't get 30 feet of range in some areas. The night vision is so extraordinary bad. They claim 2 years of battery life but that's only if you have the cameras on minimal settings with 5 second clips. Motion detection doesn't work half the time. Wish I bought Eufy cameras or got a wired system.

Trash? Do you care to elaborate? The reviews are pretty good. I just ordered a 2 camera set and was wondering if there is a way to avoid the monthly fees and store the video on SD Card/hard drive? Thanks

Yes you can store video files locally

I'll do you one better, I live in an 1,800 sqft single story home where each camera is no more than 15-50' away from the WAP *and* the sync module. Eventually all 3 of my XT2 cameras died over the course of a year (the well known 'blinking red light' problem). Each camera was replaced and within months 2 of THOSE cameras died. The motion detection is garbage, the night vision is OK (I have lights everywhere anyway) and these are NOT a serious surveilence camera (not even close.) Now, to pile on top of the issues with XT2 cameras, now, the new generation of camera is a cloud subscription service (which are why the XT2's are now expensive if you can find them.)

Blink went from a great cheap alternative product (prior to Amazon buying Blink) to now just more human data collecting end points for Amazon that you will happily pay Amazon to do so.

Can someone explain what the sync module is? Does it store the clips or is it there to connect the camera to the internet? If it stores clips can it be used for the Blink mini? or does it pair it with only the camera it camera it came with?

A sync module is like this: https://www.amazon.com/Blink-Sync...B084RQ6MHJ

The blink cameras connect to this module. This module connects to your wifi router.

You can configure the module to save the clips to a local storage.

simple google search. but also common sense, do you think anything cloud enabled is totally secure and not subject to searches and breaches?

Thats odd. Mine work everywhere. I have one on my shed / carport in my back yard. It's at least 70ft from my back door. All mine stay connected. They arent the best cameras but the ease of use makes them worth it. I've had mine 9 months and only changed batteries in 1 of 3 cameras. The one on the front door that gets all the activity

the fact that any cameras leave your house should be a concern. im sorry i dont buy into this cloud thing for personal security with cameras. I have a ring system, but no cameras on it. even then i isolate that from anything else in my house. cameras are all non-cloud and i vpn into my home to see them if i have to. the ring is only a temporary stopgap until i can afford a wired home system that doesnt require a cloud.

If you have blink cameras before march 31st then cloud storage is free else its not anymore with new ones.

Makes it expensive over the time.

I'm pretty sure you will.
Look at the chart for Blink Video Storage Policy:

https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&...1154643011
According to the chart it's not required. However, the free cloud storage does require it. So now my question is what can I do with the XT camera's without the free cloud storage?

The subscription has nothing to do with which series Blink camera you have. It's dependent on when you started your account.

Same price on kohl's with 45$ cash back . Ordered 3 in 149$ with 45$ kohls cash

Is it $50 before Kohl's cash? I see it as $60 on Kohls.

If you had an account before 4/15/20, you are grandfathered in from what I can read. No monthly fees. I started mine at the end of June and I do not have monthly fees so I am not sure how it works.

These are the newer cameras with upgraded features: better response time, better night vision, better notifications, a privacy zone, and local storage via USB. (A beta testers words, not mine).

I have ordered 2 and added the Echo Show 5 for an extra 10 bucks to add to my system.

I am really happy with these. Lots of settings in the app to set up the system the way you want it. Runs off of 2 AA batteries and the ones I put in there have lasted July 28th this year without changing them despite my system being triggered all the time do to kids, cats, and people turning around in my neighborhood (I live at the end of the road) all day long.

Can you get the Echo Show for $10 if you buy the cameras from Amazon? I can't see how to get it for $10. Thanks.

I'm not so sure. I'm being told by Blink that if I want to continue to have access to footage beyond 24 hours I will be required to pay the monthly fee. Even if not the case, the platform itself is not a good security platform due to the nature of wireless battery powered cameras.
