I really needed a smart plug but I ended up buying the Amazon Echo Show from Best Buy, picked it up just now and used it to order the $5 plug. I'll find other uses for the Echo Show :-)

Just remember guys smart plug just let you turn on and off something like lets say a lamp by voice. It wont voice control the device or anything. I bought some and they are still sitting there, maybe ill plug one into my coffee maker, but I couldn't find many uses with any of my appliances or devices.

You have to use Alexa on an Alexa device other than your phone.

These are cool but what the heck do you use them for other then christmas lights? Using for anything that people bring up like coffee maker seems to be pointless since a coffee maker would have a built in timer already and if it doesnt then turning it on alone doesnt start making coffee..still have to press START... seems pointless. Please give me a reason to buy
