I believe 6qt has metal gears vs plastic gears in 5qt. I've burned up and rebuilt two 5qt models making large (5 pizza) batches of pizza dough in them. 6qt is a champ at large batch pizza dough.

Maybe I'm not following their model numbers enough, but isn't this a standard sale price for a model with these specs?

Also, isn't this the bad one that doesn't support all the attachments?

I think it's personal preference. I only have/used Bowl lift and I haven't had any issue yet. (some complain its harder to change accessories). I was temped with smaller tilt-head version, but I chose Bowl lift version since its head is one piece with body, to me that makes it more steadier. Also I believe Prolines of KA all comes in Bowl lift because they have more power/motor (watts), steadier mixer then tilt-head. (I own 7 qt)

Power being equal my opinion is tilt is more convenient. That said, we have both, but the 6QT Pro is the lift bowl. Our tilt classic does not have the power, but gets pulled out for all non-dough making tasks.
