The biggest flaw of most air purifiers is that the replacement filters costs a fortune, I have a Coway AP-1012GH Smart Air Purifier and it uses a $20 Carbon Filter + $60 Hepa filter that need to be replaced every 6 months so every time you replace the filters your spending $80 in filters.
Both are rated for 360 square ft. Your model has a remote. AM90 has phone app / Alexa which can be finicky. Generic filters for the 555 are $40, for the AM90 $23. The 555 claims 5 level of filtration, 4 for the AM90. (The 5th level of the 555 appears to be some anti microbial coating on the filters which generics probably won't have) The 555 has a one year carbon pre filter that needs to be washed / dried every three months. The AM90 has carbon pre filters you toss and replace every three months.

Winix website shows replacement filter is type "A" No 115115. Common filter, generic $23 (even cheaper with current coupon discounts) making this a better deal than the Costco 545 model that pops up now and then on sale once you have to start buying replacement filters.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079MG4...UFbSRVNBQ4

Edit:. The first generic filter for the Costco 545 model just showed up on Amazon = $38.

We have this in my sons room and it works great. Filters last a nice amount of time and aren't too expensive to replace. Would recommend.

Woot sucks so does winix support. 1st older model had fan defect and winix wanted me to pay return ship out of pocket was expensive... 2nd model i bought missing the $60+ filter... Woot again said i have to pay to return out of pocket. I called winix since they shipped it they was rude as hell and wasted my time sending proof i bought it. You having to pay out of pocket for there mistakes is bs...

It's the printer model where they pretty much give you the device for "free", but replacement ink/toner costs a fortune. Either you accept it and move on or buy a generic one that may or may not work as well.
