I just came from costco. And I asked about this. The rep said, if you port in AFTER leaving costco; then Tmobile will cancel the 200 costco rebate and only give you 100$.
Meaning, when costco assigns a phone number to you, that number is linked to the 200$ rebate.
So, I am thinking to do port-in as well BYOD at costco itself. Confused!
I have google voice number to port in (dont know if that works).

Weird. My guy said port in with tmobile first THEN use that port in number as part of the $200.
Just came back from Costco.... the dumbass at Costco said he can't activate a new line to any phones used previously on TMobile network, had to be a phone that's never been activated on TMobile network, also he can't activate a iPhone 5s , had to be 7,8 or newer... SMH!....will go to another Costco later! Is he just making up shit?

Any unlocked/T-Mobile locked phone that support 3G/4G/5G technology can be activated as BYOD with T-Mobile via Costco (except if the imei is rejected on their portal when they key in imei and SIM card details, mostly rejection due to partially paid/unpaid balance on that imei or locked phone that doesn't allow T-Mobile on it)
You can use any phone and no need to be 7/8 or above of iPhone variants

I added a line with $200 promo and gave the IMEI number, but later realized the IMEI number is locked to another carrier. So I used a different phone.
Will it cause any issues to get the rebate?
Which IMEI number should I use in the rebate form?
Thanks for the help.
