The form tells us to go online and fill in our permanent number. Considering that many ports are not instataneous (mine took 24 hours), I doubt that we are the only people in this scenario. We got a temporary number whether we liked it or not.
We are instructed "do not use a temporary number." That spells it out to me.

IMO there is no definitive answer. You/everyone will come to know after 14 weeks.
I agree with starcaptor. The fact that the rebate instructions specifically state "do not use a temporary number," and specifically asks for the "permanent number," is about as definitive as it can be.
If a number is ported in, that is the permanent number. If no port is done, the original "Costco number" is the permanent number. I don't see any other feasible explanation.
I think the major issue that is not definitive is if both rebates stack or one will be disqualified for double dipping. But that is more likely a rebate legality issue, and has nothing to do with temporary vs permanent numbers.

Anyone still not seeing the free line promo in their account? I added the line at the 25th
I also added my line on the 25th and see no indication of the credit reflected in my account. I did the chat feature on the T-Mobile app, and they indicated they see the line being free. I guess I'll have to wait and see...
I submitted the Costco rebate yesterday with the phone number they gave me when I added the line. I emailed mypromochoice(they handle the Costco rebate) asking if I would still get the $200 shop card if I ported a number on this new line. They emailed me back pretty quickly telling me to reply with the ported number and they will update the rebate info for me. We'll see how it goes.
Totally off the topic...i am the authorised user of the account. Can i add a line in store? Do i need to provide ssn of primary owner of the account or just the last 4 of SSN

I was asked for both...last 4 and later the whole shebang.

I had to provide the last 4 of the SSN and the pin code. First they asked for the full SSN but then told me that the pin would work as well.

They check the Primary Account Holder Valid ID Card. May differ from store to store.

Two options:
Name + social
or
phone number + pin number
I used the latter because I am an authorized user (Account belongs to my sis). If you want to make sure youre in the clear first, call TMO and tell them to ensure that you have authorized user privileges (ability to add lines, etc)
How will the 200$ CostCo Rebate Card be received ?
By postal mail or by email ?
By Looking at the FAQ on the promo submission website - it says that it will be by postal mail - Is that correct ? See below

You might be able to get 4 lines for $120, with 2 lines free, and other options that you might be able to stack ($200+$100+free phones).
In terms of plans, Magenta is almost always better than Essentials. Includes taxes, better for promo eligibility. In high tax places Essentials might end up being more expensive than Magenta.
SOC is a code for the plan that you will get with T-Mobile. Magenta SOCs should qualify for most if not all current promos and will have better eligibility for various future T-Mobile deals as compared to Essentials, military, 55+, etc.
He is not gonna get 2 lines free, as only 1 line is free per account. Line is free in the form of bill credits, you are not allowed to cancel paid lines, otherwise you lose free line.

Adding a line only costs me $20. Cancelling it after 4 months still nets $120 if we can cancel the new line.
