The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Would "porting" of a solo line from another tmobile account, into my tmobile family account, count as a new line, or simply transfer of responsibility?

But how Costco knows which code to add for free line?, I want to make sure they won't mess up my current promotions on my rate plan

This is what I'd like to know too..

I hope JMAN sees this!

Wondering if we go to Costco, have them add a line to our existing account just like they normally would, and :

1. That line would be automatically be assigned as ' This one on us ' by the system ? ( depending if the conditions are met i.e. 2 post paid line, no recent cancellations, and SOC code qualified )

Or,

2. We would need to reach out to TMobile to have that newly added line by Costco re-assigned as a ' This one on us ' ( again assuming the pre-requisites are met ) ?

Such a scam. There are actually lawsuits out right now against Tmobile for these free like promos. You qualify via the representative and by checking your rate code, then get billed each month, with Tmobile stating the free line credit can take up to 3 bill cycles. After 3 months, they state you never qualify.

It's a huge hassle, and your many times out the sim card fee regardless of Tmobile screwing you. All they want is quarterly line increases for more investment securities.

Google it, class action lawsuits currently being litigated. And plenty of individual lawsuits opened recently.

Can anyone who got it last time provide some details how the free line works. I am looking to port a line and also need a phone. I'm hoping to combine the free line with the upgrade a line FE promo at Costco.

I have no phone to bring LOL. Any agent assist or SIM fee at Costco? I have a SIM and just want to get a free line on that SIM. Can I do that at Costco?
No fees when I went last year. They gave me free SIMs and I kept the Verizon ones, but I believe you have to be a Costco member.

Exactly! I hope this can get answered. We were thinking about going to Costco tomorrow anyway so would be great to get this then.

This is huge, again...I think I can get one more. I have 4 paid and 3 free lines right now on my one plus promo plan. I thought I remember reading, this plan can have up to 8 lines total. Anyone know for sure?
Can someone help me understand - what do you use the free lines for? Serious question. I'll give you an example. In my family me and my wife each have a phone, and so we are both on the magenta plan. Our 2 kids are too young to have a phone. In this case, why would I want an extra free line?

Does this work for conversions? In other words, I have an existing line that is paid -- can I switch it to this free line?
I don't think they are trying to reduce revenue by one line on each account times millions. They are trying to pad their # of subscriber lines

Edit: don't port out, they have 90 day rule.

Yes just confirmed with tmobile, if you add a line from costco it automatically qualifies for this promo, you should get a text after that with the promo offer details

That's what I have been hearing. I just got lucky with my first try. But also they screw up my account by changing it to Magenta from One . Perhaps they felt bad

Of course nothing is free in the US. They clearly stated that the free line promotion will be applied after 3 billing cycles, so you have to pay for the first 3 months. In addition, most people having issue because they never read the terms and conditions carefully.
