The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Where can I buy a port-in number? Also, will this work with Costco? So I can get $100 with T-Mobile rebate and then an additional $200 with costco?

2 Questions:

Is Simple Choice Family eligible or do I need to switch to T-Mobile Essentials?

How many free lines can you add? Is it just 1 each time they do the promotion? I have 3 paid line and enough numbers I can port-in to do another 5-7 lines.

i have the same plan as yours and pay $80 with all the discounts and taxes but for 2 lines. The last time when this offer was alive, I did not qualify for it but was quoted $120 for 2 lines and then can get the free 3rd line. So basically paying for the free line.
Now that you mention it, that was one of the things holding me back from switching plans (I have the same plan as you). I was debating if it was worth it to move to Magenta Plus just for the extra FREE line (I already have 1 FREE line on my account) and pay a little bit more but also get Netflix ($13) worth.

I am already getting Netflix included with my Xfinity package and I didn't want to see if I could even switch that package to one without Netflix to see if I can save that money there. If I could stay with the same exact cost I would switch (I don't need the Netflix included) or if I REALLY needed the extra line.

It should that's what I plan on doing, so $300 for getting a free line
Interested in how to get a total 300, which promos are you going for?
Last free line, I did the port in n and got my 250.

I'm trying to figure the best way to maximize this offer, since I will be maxed out on my One plan after getting this one. I'm at 4 paid and 3 free right now.

You can add a line online ... you'll be charged $10 for the sim card. Note that there won't be any confirmation that the line is free. That shows up later after a # is assigned when the sim card ships. If you do it in store, they'll just add a line like you can do yourself online. You'll still pay $10 for the sim card but they'll also charge you $20 for their time. If you call in to add a line, the same $10 sim card and $20 assist fee will apply but if you get a nice rep, they might possibly waive one or both fees.
great thanks for the info! what if i have a SIM card from a previous phone? can they assign a new # at no cost?

I've read through the comments here but I'm not fully clear on how this works with Costco.

Do I have this right: I go to Costco, bring a phone and add a free line there, and then I get a $200 Costco card? Or what's the procedure?I'v
I've never tried at Costco, but I will try tomorrow. I will definitely mention the free line when I do, to make sure it's coded correctly

Sorry to hear. I have a grandfathered plan and have added 2 free lines without issue. I did them in store though I don't think it matters I just prefer it that way. Did you try what the post cautioned against like to add a device or something? Just from other stories here, I've only seen customer lose their plan when they tried phone upgrades when the plan was eligible and unfortunately cs didn't tell them it would screw them up.
