The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

There is no kick back on a free line. You can't have a negative credit. You can switch to the new line and number and use it without the 2gb limit the kick back line has. That's what I did.
It's actually possible to have kickback on free lines but it's random if it works or not.
I think the trick is for them to add the kickback back to account if they screw up your line. If they are kind enough to add kickback for all lines then it should work. They did it on mine and I have kickback on all mine lines now.I can actually drop my bill below $50 if I restrict my data. I try not to let bill drop that low or they might decide to do an audit on the account and see the mistake

I have no phone to bring LOL. Any agent assist or SIM fee at Costco? I have a SIM and just want to get a free line on that SIM. Can I do that at Costco?

The BYOD $200 promotion is straight forward. You bring your phone and have your phone added or ported over to T-Mobile. They will provide you with the paperwork needed to submit for the $200 Costco cash card. When I did it, you had 30 days to submit the rebate. You will receive a confirmation after submission and you can keep checking back, but you should receive the $200 cash card in the mail in about 3 months.

Also when I ported over two lines to my existing T-Mobile account at Costco, there were no activation fees or charges for the SIM cards.

Does the BYOD stack with this free line promo?

I'm not currently a tmobile customer I've been planning on moving over to T-Mobile soon. If I were to go in today signing up for two lines on their Magenta plan where they currently give the 3rd line free would I qualify for another free line tomorrow? Where I'd essentially be getting four lines at the price of two (2 lines paid, 1 free line via 3rd line on us, 1 free line via the 11/25 free line holideal)?

I tried to add Kickback twice with agent, but no luck with the agent. I am on TM ONE.

I think I'm looking at the right place. In the link in the OP I followed the steps and under ratePlans it says :

name: "T-Mobile ONE", code: "TIULFM9"

That is on the list in the OP that it says qualify. So I should be able to add a line for free?

For the Costco deal do I just go in to my local Costco tomorrow, add the line there, and then in a few months I'll get the Costco shop card? Do I need to say add a free line or do I just add a line and it should automatically be free because my SOC is eligible?

Does this work for conversions? In other words, I have an existing line that is paid -- can I switch it to this free line?

That's what I have been hearing. I just got lucky with my first try. But also they screw up my account by changing it to Magenta from One . Perhaps they felt bad

I did this earlier this year. There is no way they can deny you unless you don't have the account number and pin which these sellers on eBay will provide. Just make sure you buy from a seller who has good rep and lot's of sales.

Correct. Do it quick if you want 4 line free tomorrow.

What happen if you get a free line and upgrade your plan later? Will that free line still get free with new plan? Thank you

But how Costco knows which code to add for free line?, I want to make sure they won't mess up my current promotions on my rate plan
It is printed on the paperwork. It is more of a rebate. It also has the number you ported over/added. I think this is how they verify it when processing the rebate.
