The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

I am on SCUTTF4 Simple choice plan with 4 lines. It looks like I am not eligible for the Free add a line promotion. Is this true? Can someone confirm?

Anyone in the same boat?

I added a line at Costco in Sept. Did not need to do anything special. I got the text that I was eligible for a free line before I got home.
Thanks for your time and response. So in Sep free line you just went to Costco and said I want to add a new line and after they did you got congrats text for the free line promotion without mentioning any free line offer details or any specific code, correct?

Alright, so I've followed this and some other threads for a while. Sorting through everything, this is my gameplan:

1) Unlock my GV number today (-$3)
2) Tomorrow, BYOD at Costco using a spare phone and porting the GV number (+$200)
3) Submit rebate for porting a line (+$100)
4) Verify that T-Mobile automatically treated the new/ported line as free.
5) Swap existing "paid" line with new "free" line
6) Cancel new "paid" lne after 1 year (assuming I don't need it}

Best outcome is that I make $297 (200+100-3)

Worst outcome is if #3 & 4 do not happen. In that case, I cancel the new line after I receive the Costco Shop Card which will cost me ~$60 for 3 months. Net is that I still make $137 (200-60-3).

Am I missing anything?

Anyone know if a boost port in number would work. I know last promotion they were specifically excluding mvno's and google voice etc. is that still the case. Technically I don't think boost is a mvno, but they're apart of sprint so is that apart of t-mobile now after the merger?!

Just an FYI:

I spoke to Tmobile Rep and YOU CAN stack the B1G1($730 off) iPhone deal. No trade-in required. I already confirmed with the rep and she will make sure she contacts me tomorrow morning to put this deal into motion.
What's that B1G1 ($730 off)? Would you have SD link?

i am on tmobile ONE promo 2 lines plus 1 free add a line for $100 and i am never eligible for these.
Had the same plan a year or so back. Talked to tforce when my friend want to join and switched to regular one plan also ported kick back / hook up / hd streaming whatnot on the existing line. You will end up paying more but it opens up to a lot more other promotes. I for one use the free line for data so my main line gets the kick back credit completely offset the price hike. Gonna take some effort to set it up, I end up have to call the tforce guy to walk through each line one by one. But it is worth the effort.

I called T-Mobile today and they said the free line doesn't apply to any 55 plus plans. However I went into the store last week they said since I signed up over a year ago I could add a third line for an additional $30 a month.
Good to know! I have my little ones on redpocket for now, but I'm sure once they get a little older they will want a more mature plan.

Good to know I may have the option to add a line to 55+ plan, although it appears military plan is best route at $25/mo each phone for nearly the same plan.

They can just suck it up with redpocket for the next few years. ApplauseApplause

The first post tells you how to find your plan code and check if it's on the eligibility list.

Buy one, gift one: Gift a new iPhone on us (up to $730 off) via 24 or 30 monthly bill credits depending on the device when you pick up a new iPhone 12 model or iPhone 11 model. Simply get both on EIP and then activate a new voice line on any postpaid plan (two lines for new customers).

If we can get this stickied, that would be awesome.
