The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Thats wierd then for sure..

And in that case costco lets you take advantage of device purchase offers without they adding the line themselves? They have always refused to do so when we were in similar situations with our older plan.
I always explain them and they all seem to understand where I am coming from. I only had a problem once with Costco rep. I made the guy to add a line himself to prove that I was not lying. And yes, as long as the new line was activated during the device promotion period, system will automatically honor the promotion/rebate.

How many lines are you currently? Apparently my plan was locked to 8 lines T-Mobile ONE thus either Costco or t-force was having problems adding 9th line... hence my plan was unknowingly changed to Magenta...

After few months of headaches, T-Force was able to changed back to 12-lines T-Mobile ONE and adding beyond 8th line, no problems.
Yep. They did this for me last free line as well.

Slightly OT. My soc isn't eligible. Is it possible to get the Insider discount 20 percent still ? for existing plans?
No way, sadly.

What details you give to port out Google voice number? The number and what else? I remember back then that there is some default account number something. Thanks

Hi

My soc code MGPLSFM, looks like, is eligible. So what I am trying to figure out is if I go to Costco and add a line, would I automatically get the line for free or do I need to call t-mobile and apply any promo code. Looking through the thread, looks like others have same question but I did not see the answer.

Thanks

Have magenta 2 paid lines. Current SOC is eligible. However, been considering upgrading to the magenta plus. Would that change the SOC? Do you guys think I should upgrade now and add the new line tomorrow. Or add the line tomorrow, set up the number. And then change the account to magenta plus? Does it matter?

So what is everyone doing? Adding a line in Costco and chatting with T force rep to make that line free?

This is really not that great of a deal. You'll be tied to T-Mobile for 2.5 years for one phone. I rather jump carriers and get discount for every line I'm transferring to.
It depends. Those in grandfathered plans that don't jump ship every year are getting phone bills you would kill for more than likely. It boils down to do you want cheap service or cheap yearly phone deals? Personally I'll take my soon to be unlimited 9 lines after I add the free one today for $160 month over the latest iPhone that looks just like last years and barely better. I've seen people getting far better deals than me too. If you're new to T-Mobile what you suggest is not a bad idea as their pricing is on par with AT&T and Verizon now and not much cheaper.

I cancelled two lines last month.
Would I still be able to get this free line?

What about the 90 days rule?

Was able to do it via chat - phone combo. although order confirmation does not show the details. They would not waive the $20 assisted service charge this time but i guess that may be YMMV.
