The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

The s20 fe $99 by adding a line. It's in their holidays page
Read OP .. says specifically it will NOT work with the FE.

Don't trust t-mobile the majority of TMobile reps to be accurate.

I tried to add a new line on the website but it doesnt seem to be free. Do I have to call them or go to the store?
You see $20/month charge, right?

Don't worry. It's free via monthly bill credit. Read my post a few posts above.

Bro i got the kickback from all my other 2 free lines..because i dont use them and never reach the 2gb mark so they credit my bill with 10 dollars per line...thats why im wondering if this would still be the same 🤷🏻 ♂️
Kickback died about a year ago, not available on new lines. Workaround is too run dual sims and put all data on new line (old line is kickback eligible). Not many phones are dual sim compatible (mostly iPhones and pixels, works via OP if you flash firmware and buy dual sim tray off eBay. Kills RCS on pixels) Make sure they don't "upgrade" your plan when you add the free line though Frown

agreed, the first rep i called today told me i couldnt get the free line by itself, that i would need to get 2 lines added to my account (already has 4 paid lines) and one of them would be free other would be paid.

They usually don't know what they are talking about. Also i hate to be that guy but reps based in other countries for tmobile are pretty bad compared to the reps based in america the 1/10 times i get them.

TM1AMP2 SOC here and 611 tells me I'm not eligible unfortunately despite being on the list.

This is a gov employee T-Mobile One Amplified plan.

EDIT: Had a chat going on Twitter and the T-Mobile Help agent there confirmed that TM1AMP2 is eligible. Not sure who to believe anymore LOL. I'm adding the line and seeing what happens.

FINAL EDIT: Nope, Amplified plans are not eligible after all.

When you go to Costco, you're just adding a line to your account. They don't do anything special or different to add a "free" line. So if your plan allows you to add a line (aka you're not maxed out on lines on your plan), Costco will add a line for you. T-Mobile's internal system makes it free automatically if your plan is qualified.
Can you elaborate more? Is it automatic to switch to the free line once costco adds a line to the plan? How will they determine if you can add a line for free?

Can we add a line with new number at Costco then port in a number later to qualify for the $100?

I'm no authority but it should work. The $100 from T-Mobile is for add-a-line and port-in. They don't care that the line was added at Costco (and that Costco gave you $200 for adding a line there).
