The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

I've heard of unintended plan shifts - but on the TMO side - not Costco.
Have you had a different experience?
honestly, I've just played it safe. my SOC after the last add a line became TIULFM9 as I added a 9th line.

But I made sure the T-mobile rep was on the same page and they were.

But in store kiosk agents - I really don't know what they may do or how it may impact so I've been careful and just dealt with T-Force.

Understood.

So you are going for the TMO $150 deal only.

No, you can't do this.
You can. I have done this. Did it on the 2020 Line on Us 1 and 2020 Line on US 2 and am getting all the credits for it correctly on every bill.

I haven't decided - on one hand I was thinking of just keeping it simple and doing the Pixel 4a or OnePlus straight purchase - its 50% off

it's at least something but i haven't decided - i feel like T-mobile will continue block iPhone deals now from stacking on free line ones.

I'm texting Tmo, and I'm on Tmobile one, they say can add the free line but have to convert to Magenta Voice plan, they say it's just rebranding. I don't want anything to be messed up in my account. Any thoughts?
Not true. I just did it one hour ago at Costco
It's my 12th line

Then you got very lucky. This is explicitly not allowed to happen.

Finally! Someone who has tried this! I will follow what you did. Just say I need to add a line and come home and Port the number over. Do you need to bring the BYOD with you to Costco? Any Sim charges? I also have an extra sim that is brad new.
Yes just add the line there and tell them you will port it later. You need to carry your id card, the Phone or the IMEI number and the will give you the BYOD rebate form and the sim card for free. No payment required at costco.

what is so good about the fruitlloops plan?
Nothing standout. 2 for 100 taxes and fees included also have the free one plus promo which is all the plus add-om stuff. International roaming in 147 countries, Mexico and Canada are treated like the US, 10gb Hotspot, unlimited at 600kbps after that, and the HD streaming pass. I think the HD pass is probably the most valuable part seeing as even after I used up 10gb of Hotspot I was still able to stream via Hotspot in HD. Any other plan I switch to will cost me more and potentially with less benefits. But its clear there are many other better options out there for those who need more lines. I don't NEED a third line. When I do, ill have to figure out what happens but for the moment it doesn't make sense to leave the plan. Originally I would waste time trying, now I just assume it's not included and come to the threads to confirm. Then I save myself the time of trying.

I added the line at Costco, and ported a number while adding the line. This way, I don't have to deal with a temporary number and have one number which is the ported one.
Brought my unlocked phone and the IMEI was input while adding the line. The same was transferred onto the paperwork generated for the rebate.
I got the rebate paperwork from Costco Rep. Will be submitting that shortly.
I will submit the T-mobile rebate a little later, maybe tomorrow.

Thanks for the playbook on the one shot gameplan.

Question: is your unlocked phone tied to this new AAL or can you just take the new AAL SIM out & not use it? i.e. does a phone have to be active (used) on this new AAL?

When are you doing the port in? At the same time as adding the free line?
