The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Costco should do the porting process. Did they print gift card instructions for you? If they did then follow the number on the form if not then go back and tell them to do the porting process.
They did gave me a print out of Tmobile $200 Costco Shop card redemption form.

What do you mean by "follow the number on the form"?

I had to switch to Tmobile one plan to add new free line as my old plan (promo plan $100 for 2 + 1 free) was using maximum allowable 3 lines. The new plan is 120$. So it increases 20$ but if I add new line otherwise then it would charge me $40 per line in future. So I thought $20 additional for this line that makes deal for me. Also in future if any free line promo comes then it can also be added without plan change.

If they give you the form then follow exactly, copy the IMEI, The phone number and pretty much whatever in there. You cannot change your number which means you won't get the Tmobile gift card. If I was you would go back to the Costco rep, tell them to do the porting process and re-print the form.

This deal worked on the iPhone SE (50% off) deal, surprisingly.
I did that with the first "line on us" deal of the year... it's got to be the cheapest way to get into apple world with a new phone...

So I added a line at Costco today with a BYOD.

Twitter team told me I could get the Pixel 4a 5G deal with that new line. Then they went radio silent on me for a long time.

So I brought up chat in the T-Mobile app. They initially said I could do the free Pixel 4a 5G deal (with add a line and trade-in). But then they later said that to get the Pixel 4a 5G for free, it would have needed to have been done at the time of adding the line. They told me though that I could get 50% off the Pixel 4a 5G without a trade-in because I added a line.

That didn't really make sense to me. If I needed to add the Pixel at the time of adding the line to get it for 100% off, I don't get how I could get 50% without a trade.....

Is he just off his rocker? Anyone been particularly successful with one medium or another?

My long-game goal here is to keep the phone I activated with BYOD on that new free line but get the Pixel 4a 5G associated with one of my other lines. Am I just swinging at nothing?

I asked this question in another thread, hopefully someone can answer this.

Can someone who've done similar rebate at Costco in the past confirm if it's ok for the IMEI# on Costco's rebate info page (that they gave when activated line) does not need match the MEI# when we fill out the actual rebate?? I would imagine quite a few people changed their mind and use a different phone then the one they told Costco.
What is the Imei number on your rebate instruction paper? If it is the generated Imei on your rebate instruction paper, I think you need to enter the generated imei number when fill out the online rebate form. The $200 deal doesn't say you can't change your phone which has a different imei after you activated a new line.

Did you have to change your plan today to get the free line? Did you have to call?

Went to Costco earlier today to try to get the $200 add a new line deal for free but the Costco rep couldn't get it done because my account is allegedly on "flexpay" and he told me to call T-Mobile to get it removed but since it'd typically take 24-hr to reflect this update, I'll likely miss the deadline for this deal. But in speaking w/ the T-mobile rep to get this "flexpay" status removed from my account, I was informed that not only could I get the free line, I could also get the Samsung S20 FE phone for free (sim/shipping/$20 service charge all waived), just pay for the tax today and I'll get credited the 24 month installment back every month. Figured I could just sell the phone for at least $300 (which is more than $200 costco gift card plus the tax I paid on the phone)
And when I port in a number later on, I'd still qualify for the $100 rebate.

Not sure if I got lucky or this is just a standard deal. BTW, I'm have T-Mobile ONE.
What does flexpay mean? I had the same crap on my acct and the rep didn't know what to do...the tmob lady said I can add the line...i said no.I just came home

When adding multiple lines at Costco, there will be multiple Control numbers. Does each Control number bind with a specific line?

It was crowded at Costco, rep was busy and didn't have time to fill the IMEI# on the redemption form. So now I have no idea which Control number goes with which IMEI/line (or phone number).

Got this deal done at Costco today and everything went smoothly. I had an extra phone lying around and use that for the new line and $200 BYOD offer. This is my 3rd free line of the year from T-Mobile, first two done through chat and this 3rd one at the Costco Warehouse. The new line is already showing on my T-Mobile account as free under plan detail:

I added only one line and when I tried to send the submission, I got the message that " We already have a rebate submitted for this Control Number". Is it possible that he gave same paper to someone else too, since info was filled by him using hand? Is it allowing you to submit the rebate?
