The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Need help for father, well over 55, wanting to keep 2 lines, but looking to switch from ATT to save money. Android phones.

What are his best options?

I read 55+ deal at T-Mobile makes $100 rebate and third phone line ineligible, if he chooses that plan. He can choose any plan, but he's definitely looking to get out of ATT.

He could even do Google FI as 96% of his time is at his home. I tried looking through stackable deals, from all carriers, but can't find best options before they will expire shortly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mom passed away 1 year ago - day before Thanksgiving -but he wants to keep her phone and keep it active..

Could really use you help. Hard time now.
We have 55+ plan in the family and were invited to add a third line for $20. If that matters to you as you are not limited to just two lines as advertised.

I know i was just bragging Big Grin The longer you stick around, the more chances to add free lines. Patience is your friend!
I know you were. I have a cheaper plan with 10 lines than most here I'm sure, but I hate showing off LOL. I know you got good deal there and many of us know how to play the system with T-Mobile but many people here still are surprised to see these many discounts. But all good with you, just need to stop the bragging LMAOLMAOLMAO

I would like to know that too.

I could not get a confirmation but I was told by a representative that it will probably mess up any pending rebate/credit/gift card associated with the new line opened using BYOD promo.

I was planning to go again to Costco on Friday and ask at the kiosk if I'm still eligible to get my $200 Costco GC if I get a different device/IMEI number from the one I originally used when doing the BYOD promo.

In the meantime, let us know if you find out something different
It looks like I dodged a bullet.

Apparently I closed my T-mo chat window before reading that I needed to watch for a follow-up email for my final authorization. I just saw the email now, so the order for the OnePlus 8t+ never went through. Chatted with T-mo and they confirmed if I don't return the authorization email in 48hrs, the phone order gets canceled.

Gonna let it be and not risk messing up the BYOD offer.

anyone knows what a GOOD CONDITION is for a trade in? I understand cracked screens can be rejected but how about other cosmetic issues like nicks, scratches, image burns, yellowing screen etc?

Re: Google Voice ports
So they'll work in the sense of getting that number ported in but the big question is will they pay out the $100? I'd rather pay a little more for a number that'll definitely work than be out $3 for nothing.
Same thought.
Even if you ported a docent carrier, it might cancel out the Costco rebate.
Even if Costco rebate terms doesn't restrict it (permanent vs temp number) it could still be denied

Thing is, we want it to work! Last time, Tmo $250 and Costco $100, I think similar boat, lots of conflicting sides, shouldn't work, but it did work for those that did.

I'm in the same boat - whether to port in and possibly exchange Costco $200 for Tmo $100 but won't know until I get the Costco $200...

I had similar issue. Contact t-force and say your new line does not have the right data plan and ask them to copy the data plan from your other line.
Did it get fixed?

Looks like I have the same issue on new line that was added yesterday?

The BYOD $200 promotion is straight forward. You bring your phone and have your phone added or ported over to T-Mobile. They will provide you with the paperwork needed to submit for the $200 Costco cash card. When I did it, you had 30 days to submit the rebate. You will receive a confirmation after submission and you can keep checking back, but you should receive the $200 cash card in the mail in about 3 months.

Also when I ported over two lines to my existing T-Mobile account at Costco, there were no activation fees or charges for the SIM cards.
Will any phone do?
I have an old Trackphone that wouldn't work on T-mobile network.
Will I be able to use it?

Just called T-Mobile to see if I'm qualified, and they said because I have Simple Choice North America 10GB plan, I am not eligible for the free line offer. Also, they mentioned free line is for 3rd line only, so because I already have 4 lines, I wouldn't be eligible too.

I have the old grandfathered simple choice plan with 4gb of data.

tmobile says the add a line is free, but the data is not. and since they no longer offers 4gb of data, its 6gb for $15, this doesn't sound right to me... can someone help?

because I can just pay the $10 and get the line with 4gb, why would I pay $15 for this line?

thanks
