The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Another question, and I don't know if it's been answered.

I was able to get the free line, so I'm waiting for the SIM to arrive so that I can port in a number and get the rebate. However, I may want to bring in a different number (they are not sure if they want to use TMO) down the road. Am I able to port a different number into the free line without losing the free line? If so, is it just like another port? Is there a minimum time before I can do that (90 days, 1 year, etc.)? I think I've seen people reference a "port over" or something, but I'm unclear on how that works.

yes you can port in another number to replace your port in (rebate) number. I've done it on last byod $250 deal.

Took them 6 hours to respond to my facebook DM and the following is the response I got:

"Since you have an older Simple Choice plan that is "retired" any new lines can only add on the available data features and the 2gb data add on is now retired so that's why it's only letting you add the paid $15 version. I'd be glad to take a look if it gives me the option on my side but I can't guarantee that it will."

Will update once I hear from them again.
hey, if u want a faster response, text to 611. i usually get a response within 30 min or less. let me know how it goes

Noob question.. do you just call up tmobile and ask to add a line? Do you text them? Chat them? Do you need to mention the promotion explicitly?

so I plan to move 4 lines from Metro to T-Mobile and I want to sign up for their 4 lines/$105 Essential plan, how do I get the $200 Costco discount and the $100 port-in rebate? do I go to Costco first to activate my new T-Mobile account and port in the numbers in order to get the $200 shop card? then contact T-Mobile for the $100 rebate? BTW, is the $100 rebate per port-in line for up to $400 for 4 lines? so confusing.

This deal won't work for you because you trying move lines from Metro which is T-Mobile prepaid. You only can port from any non T-mobile companies. No T-mobile mvno.

This is a question more geared towards the future.

If you pay for 2 lines, how many free lines can you add, provided this promotion shows up again in 2021?

Is it you pay for 2, you get 2 free?
If you pay for 3, you can get 3 free?
As many free lines as T-Mobile will let you have. I've taken advantage of all the free lines promos they have, I'm at 2 paid lines and 6 free lines.

I believe I don't have to port in the number in Costco, right? I plan to port in by myself later. But if Costco rep. submit the $200 rebate with a temporary number, will it cause any problem, since later I will port in a new number?
And can I port in number online by myself?

I;m going to say you got a bad rep.... I have an old SC plan, at least for 7 years and a few months ago brought my SO over to my plan from her t-mobile plan. took 5 minutes and my plan did not change.
Not the same. The situation here would be if YOU want someone ELSE to take over your plan. You wouldn't be able to give them control of your plan. You can add whoever you want to your plan no problem. But if you wanted your SO to be the responsible party, they'd tell you you're out of luck if you wanted to keep the same SC plan.

Kind of ridiculous, but they can't just transfer over an old plan to someone else. They have to 'transfer' everyone to a plan that you can sign up for right now.

Yes, I checked and all promotions and credit are retained. I made sure that the rep knew the exact rate plan SOC for it to be changed to and had them confirm multiple times that I wouldn't lose anything following the change.
Do you mind sharing what was your original and new SOC? I am in the same plan I think and want the One plan with 12 lines . Thanks

Sorry I don't have any secret sauce, my account is just always on the list of eligible account types. What is your account code? (instructions in wiki).
The SOC is NAFUTT4 (Simple Choice North America 10GB). I found it on the row that says ratePlans in the manageaccount menu. Is that right? Base amount I pay is $120 for 4 lines plus tax, equating to about $135/month. I see my SOC is on the list, but why is the T-Mobile rep telling me I can't add a line for free? Please help 😭
