The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

It was free for me. And still is. And I've been in a grandfathered plan for years. Didn't change mine. Aorry about yours.

As long as you know your plan qualifies you can just do it online. I did worked perfectly.
When I tried adding a new line online, it said to pay $10 for Sim now and $20 due monthly. My SOC is on the eligible list (name: "Simple Choice North America 10GB", code: "NAFUTT4"), so do I just pay the $10 at checkout for the SIM? I spoke to a Tmobile rep on the phone and they said my plan wasn't qualified, so I don't know if I should risk adding a new line or not?

Maybe try another rep and see if you get the same answer?

The SOC is NAFUTT4 (Simple Choice North America 10GB). I found it on the row that says ratePlans in the manageaccount menu. Is that right? Base amount I pay is $120 for 4 lines plus tax, equating to about $135/month. I see my SOC is on the list, but why is the T-Mobile rep telling me I can't add a line for free? Please help 😭

I agree, this was going to be my advice too. Try again, have your rate plan ready, be armed with the knowledge your rate plan is on the approved list, and ask why they can't do it. Have them be specific. Good luck!

Oddly enough, I got a call back from a supervisor a few hours after I activated and after my call to cancel the paid 6gb of data. She asked if everything was ok since they had a call recorded with silence. Probably when I put in my G voice to have them call me back on but it just went straight to VM everytime they called. I took this opportunity to see if she could add there 2gb back to my line and specifically asked her to copy it from my other lines (tip from someone up thread). After a few mins on hold she was pleased to tell me that she was able to get it put on.

Not as good as some people with more free lines than paid lines but $60 + tax for 6 lines is good for me.
Mind sharing your SOC code? Via PM is fine too. Thanks

So T-Mobile chat said my plan was eligible for a free line. I just want to make sure I'm going about this right. Basically show up to Costco, add a new line with an unlocked phone I have laying around. Fill out the Costco shop card form. Then talk to T-Mobile to port over a number to the free line and get the rebate through them. Is there anything I'm missing?

It's been around 40 hours since I did BYOD at Costco and my account doesn't show Line On Us 3. It does show Line on Us 2 from the Sept deal. I talked to a rep who confirmed it was free. The monthly cost is the same as before and the line itself shows $0. Maybe my account reflects the discount but doesn't show the Line On Us 3 yet? I guess I'll wait until the next billing cycle to confirm.

Do free lines come with a hotspot? 3G, 4G, 5G or do they match what your paid lines have, for example if you have the One Plus promo do they add it to free lines?

Spoke with a rep yesterday and got the free line, but she told me the free pixel4a promo doesn't stack. Was anyone able to get one along with their free line?
