I am 5-11, 190 lbs. I sat on both the Hyken and the Dexley at my local Staples store. I almost spent an entire hour going back and forth between the two.

I preferred the Hyken because it's slender. You sit in it and your arms fall right on top of the arm rests. With the Dexley I had to open my arms to have them fall on the arm rests. I can see how a larger or wider person would feel tight in the Hyken, and more comfortable in the Dexley. The Dexley felt too wide for me.

As for the head rest on the Hyken, you definitely feel it on the top of your back if it is facing down. However, if you pull it up, and twist it up, you will not feel it. I can see how for a person taller than me (5-11), that you would perhaps feel the head rest on your back the entire time.

At the end of the day, I can see me using the head rest only if I lean back completely on the chair, and if I want to rest my head on it on purpose. Just like when driving a car, I cannot feel the head rest unless I push my head back towards it. Since you can lock the Hyken in such a way that you can let your body rest completely, it is nice being able to let your head rest as well. It felt perfect for me under that situation. This would be a nice feature if you for example are making a long phone call and don't need to be staring down at your computer and you just want to sit back and stare at the ceiling. When I'm typing on my computer (the majority of my day), I have no need for the head rest.

You cannot lock the Dexley when you tilt the chair back, so to me this feature completely sold me on the Hyken.

Once I got back in my car I noticed even more the comfort of the Hyken.

The materials look decent, but not great. However, for the price, I totally feel that this is a great deal.

I have a bonded leather chair that is now entirely peeled off and can't wait to throw it in the garbage. I sat on some of those in the store and walked away from them as soon as I reminded myself that now I have tiny pieces of leather all over my house.! Thanks OP... i was waiting for the price to get back to $149.99
If you don't need the head rest, another option for mesh chair (both seat and back) is WorkPro 1000 from Office Depot. Its Black Friday Price $125 starts at today (Wednesday) Midnight ET or 9pm PT. https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...-Mid-Back/ Right now the price hasn't changed yet.

I have had WorkPro 1000 for the last 5 years. It is still going strong after sitting on it for 10+ hours per day as I have been working from home for the last decade. It is also a very comfortable chair to sit on. Its arm rests not only move up and down but also rotate left and right. Most times I type on my computer, but I can easily lean back to relax during conference calls. I had 3 office chairs before WorkPro 1000 and suffered back pain and sciatica from them. Shortly after I got WorkPro 1000, my back pain and sciatica stopped.

When the chairs were $169, there were coupons that dropped it another $20 to $149. Now that it's $149 today, are there any $20 coupons still available to sweeten the deal?

I tried both 43266 or 56078 and they didn't work with this $149 price.

It's a good chair and a good price, not the best/lowest price though.

Just sat in this and the dexley, this is too narrow but the lumbar was great where the dexley lumbar felt hard but loved the rest of the chair... Not sure what to buy.

I'm guessing they won't give another coupon based on them lowering the price of a lot of their stock. If you go to the staples website and use their customer support chat, the representative *can give you a one time $5 discount*.

I was inquiring if they were going to give another coupon for Black Friday and the customer support member said it wasn't likely.

I think tall folks use the Dexley.

I've been using it for 3 years; 8+ hours on weekdays. Holding up pretty well and no complaints.

I have been going back and forth between the dexley and the Dormeo Espo chair. The Dormeo is a bonded leather managers chair, so you miss out on the mesh. It is very comfy from my short time testing in store, which is why I have yet to pull the trigger on either one.
