Experience greater power, range, and speed. With an internal and external lithium ion battery, ES4-800 has a top speed of nearly 15.5 mph and a range of up to 28 miles. The bar for high-performance e-scooters has been raised.

Mine won't connect either to my iPhone. I wonder whether this is related to the iOS - probably not - otherwise it would have been noticed.
Just also tried the M365 iOS app. Same thing. For those of us affected, BT is simply not enabled on the scooter. I think the only (potential) fix would be a flash via the solder method. Or maybe the BT module is dead and that is why these units were talking out of production and sent for refurb? Either way, BT only is not adding much in the form of options. You really need to flash and tweak settings to get the most out of it.

Just set up mine. Everything seems to work but of course the BT.

iOS can't find it nor is there a BT icon showing up on the dash.

Front lights work

Underneath lights light up in the tri color.

As far as the horn. Do you need to ride for the horn to sound?

It's not an electronic horn, it's a plain old manual one, just press down on that spring loaded lever, release, and it will hit the bell.

Has anyone been able to update the firmware on this using segways app? I keep getting stuck at 47%. Not sure if this is because Bird has their own firmware?

"similar"? isn't it the exact same scooter?
Based on what I've gathered, another major difference is that the Bird version doesn't have the rear shock absorber. But the Segway ES2/ES4s all have the rear shock absorber. Not sure if it's just model year difference or what.

With the solid rubber tires, the shock absorbers on this model don't do much, every little bump is still felt.

What's up with that round Rubber piece? Does that go somewhere? I believe it covered the hole that the Handle Bar's go into to connect the wires.

No, it's just used to cover the hole for transportation.

These were built as "rental" scooters. The "R" in the serial number stands for RENTAL.

Bird loaded custom firmware disabling the Bluetooth features, and they will not connect to the app.

You need to flash or replace the dashboard.

Are you pressing down enough and letting it spring back to hit the bell?

These older videos were meant for the Bird/Lime scooters that were purchased from a place like a police auction or ones that were stolen and sold off. These legitimate ones that were actually renewed by Bird or someone they hired to be sold off to the public are likely different. Why? Because some individuals, including myself are able to connect to the app via bluetooth.
