Cause there are 3 kids instead of 1 spoiled brat.
Gateway was the bomb back when I was in technical sales in 1994. I had one that had a 17" CRT for Doom. I still have the speaker and subwoofer system in my kids desktop. I'm sure it's just a licensed name at this point.
I think this will do great for you needs coz its 16GB ram and Core i5

Newer had Gateway laptops, any inputs on how good/bad they are?
Basic use for parents - web, email, netflix, youtube, skype.
Thanks in advance!

Blows my mind that gateway still makes computers. I'm in IT (supporting like 1000 end points with only 5 other techs) and you NEVER see gateway

Check this thread from earlier this month. It got $50 cheaper, which is good, but someone on the last thread mentioned they have no drivers on their website and support doesn't really provide much help.

It's funny how generic brand laptops can have better drivers than premium laptops. My Gateway Creator series is far more stable than any of the Dell XPS laptops I've owned.

Thanks a bunch.
Based on reviews it doesn't sound as good as specs are.
Any other deals in that price range or cheaper around? Need something solid enough to be able survive my parents lol Smilie

specs look awesome especially 16GB ram but 3.5lb is on the heavier side for a 14" non touch laptop.
