According to the Apple website it needs at least 2.2A and didn't see any specified amp ratings for the USB-C version on the product page.
Note: For fast charging, iPhone 12 models require a power adapter with a minimum power output of 20 watts, such as the Apple 20W USB power adapter. If you use a third-party power adapter, it should follow these recommended specifications:
Frequency: 50 to 60 Hz, single phase
Line Voltage: 100 to 240 VAC
Output Voltage/Current: 9 VDC/2.2 A
Minimum Power Output: 20 W
Output Port: USB-C
**EDIT** went back and looked through the product page again. Missed it the first time but it does state it is 3A.

So this works for fast charging iPhone 12's?

1. Quick Charge (QC), which is not just a word for fast charge; it is a proprietary technology owned by Qualcomm. Samsung phones use Quick Charge.
2. Power Delivery (PD), which is the USB standard for fast charging via type-C connectors. iPhone 12 and all Pixel phones use Power Delivery.
iPhone 12 and Pixels will not charge faster via Quick Charge; they must have Power Delivery chargers for improved charge speeds. The link does include an option to select a PD charger.
I'm specifically referring the 20W USB-C version with the regular price of $15.99, the product page gives you 3 options to choose.
