My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

This laptop vs HP 15 with Ryzen 5 4600H?

I plan to use it for CPU-intensive work.
The Ryzen 5 4600H is like 14% faster. It's intended for bigger, more power-hungry laptops. If you don't worry about battery life, keep the 4600H.

Man, I ordered HP envy x360 with same specs except 256 GB ssd for $566 last night. You think envy is better than pavilion?

I tried to find whether usb-c is capable for display output but looks like it's just high speed data transfer. Can anyone confirm?
Please, could someone confirm this?

Will I be able to have two monitors plugged in at the same time?

After going over the comparable specs between this deal versus $379 laptop from Wally, I say this is the the best deal esp when you get to customize it. The $379 laptop from Walmart is STILL a champ for a bargain.

Yes, it's more sleek than pavilion and less weight.

Does this apply to gold as well?

Yes envy is better but that had the ryzen 5. This has ryzen 7. This is not 2 in 1 so it wont turn 360 to tablet mode.
You trade off cpu for better chassis, pen and 2 in 1.

I got that one too.

Walmart deal had a 512gb SSD, which I guess most of us don't care about. But if you add that upgrade, it did save you some money.

I don't know the actual specs, but isn't Ryzen 7 going to help you better?
Quote from myamex :
Ryzen 7 has slightly better single-core performance and power efficiency.

https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-com...en-5-4600h

I bought this laptop just to run some Machine Learning codes. My old Alienware 17 R2 was struggling and took hours to run any experiment.

My usage is a mix of single and multi-core. My experience with U-series processors is not great. My last one was i5-8250U, while it was okay for single core, multi-core was extremely slow compared to similarly-benchmarked i7-3840qm. It was configured to run at base frequency with multi-core i.e. 1.6ghz because of 15W TDP limitation.
This Ryzen again has TDP of 15W, so I don't know if total number of cores/boost-clock etc will be of any relevance!
