My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

I checked YouTube and it seemed more complicated than that. I've never tried messing with sodered ram, so I can't give first hand experience.
Why do manufacturers even do this?! I still like the old chassis with the screws clearly visible like 5 years ago. They had to mess with a good design and make it worse.

I bought the Best Buy HP - Pavilion 15.6" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 5 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 - 256GB SSD - Shadow Black. It has the 4600H Ryzen 5. This computer will be used for Many Zoom video calls/meetings.

Is the one I bought from best buy better or worse than this one for what I am looking to do? In the end, they will be about the same price.

for me the asus one is $100+ more expensive after CB +ppal.
That asus one is super light with dedicated graphics. and better screen. 250nit vs 300nit.

It's strange that I hardly find a great deal like this for 13-14 inch. It's almost always 15 inch.

This is a good deal, but for those who prefer Dell, the Inspiron 5505 is now at $441 after 10% code (WEEKEND10). That's a 6-core Ryzen 5 4500U but no one buying a $400-500 laptop will notice a difference in real use.

I think the main reasons to go for the Dell would be the matte screen, larger battery (53 vs 41 Whr) and easier upgradability. Every HP consumer laptop I've ever owned has been a huge pain to open up.

If you have an Amex biz card, check for 10% off Dell. I believe both Dell and HP allow PayPal checkout, so that's 5%/5X UR points with a Chase Freedom card.

Thanks a lot for quick response. That's what i am thinking too. This HP is an extremely tempting deal and cheapest I have seen for 4700U but i am guessing there might be some quality compromises we will be making in build quality etc.

Even before cashback. For $20 extra better cpu (probably worth $90-100 alone), better network card, backlit keyboard (usually worth 20-30).

I think the value here is that much upgrades for only $20.

If you got the walmart one and dont need a laptop immediately, i would strongly suggest return and get this. For $20 difference dont keep that one. You get alot for your $20.
You are partially correct. The size of HD on Walmart is 512GB, so it evens out. Also, Walmart laptop has the same network card (WIFI 6) .

For $20 more, you get a better processor and backlit Vs. more GB and no backlit (for some) on Walmart deal.

Is the lid/deck/bottom aluminum or plastic? I'm keeping the Dell if the HP is all plastic. Does anyone know?
