My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

Spent 3.5 hours to cancel my duplicated order. Dell is definitely more customer friendly than HP.
Now I have this HP and Dell 5505.

I asked the same question - essentially, looks like a more customizable version of the same computer for less $$ - until the configuration starts working again, I can't compare side-by-side but seems like a better deal
After spending couple or hours here and there. I decided to stick with DELL. I already own HP, not happy with build quality. Also the things which helped me made my decision are:

1. HP 15z is noisy. Fan running more frequently than DELL 5505
2. This HP has far less battery timing.
3. This HP has bigger bezels around screen.
4. no finger print security
5. only 1 SSD port
6. in HP Max ram can be 64gb * CORRECTED
7. Look more b.u.t.ful than HP
8. way bigger track pad than HP

Plus points for HP are:
1. possible SATA HDD connector
2. front speakers (although max sound could still be lower than dell, not sure )
3. More color options
4. Ryzen 7 in HP vs Ryzen 5 in DELL

Finally got it in my cart, now the "Place Order" button won't work. I've hit it about 200 times and each time it tells me "Your order can not be completed at this time. We will save items in your shopping cart. Please try again later.", but I still feel like It's going to place 200+ orders for me. This could be interesting laugh out loud
LOL...that's what I did, and I thought the same.

I just got off the phone with a customer service rep - he said the backend system they have for "custom configurations" is broken and they're working to fix it, ETA is ~45 minutes from now.

Has anyone been able to contact customer service and how long has it taken to talk to a representative? I'm trying to cancel an order I placed last night and other people are saying that they're allowing cancellations because of the delay in order processing during Black Friday.
I have been holding on the call for 3 hours and still not able to be answered. Luckily I got response from online chat after 1 hour waiting.

A SSD make a HUGE difference in the overall speed in Windows 10. I would move that to absolutely required.
dont buy any laptop or computer if you are not going to have SSD for at least windows drive.
Hard disk based windows or any OS is un-usable no matter if you get core i999 or ryzen777

Won't let me add to cart now and ship date says 'undefined'. It doesn't say unavailable or out of stock. WTF?
