My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

Is the touchscreen option worth it or stick to the basic 1080p?
I mean on a non 2 in 1 notebook, it really is more of a novelty.

Great if it includes it, but for an extra $60 combined with the extra weight a touchscreen puts on a laptop I personally don't think its worth it.

I had one on a laptop a few years ago, and while I did touch the screen quite a bit, it totally had more to do with me knowing I could vs. it providing any ease of me using the PC otherwise.

Any thoughts on if the 1TB SSD is worth the $170 upgrade? I was using that to allow me to apply to the 10% coupon code of SMBHOL

The coupon code won't apply for me with a $620 build. Still work or did they raise the base price for the coupon?

Same here. I think it will eventually show up. The bigger question for me is, if I should cancel this and keep the walmart one @ $379 with no backlit or return the walmart one. The only benefit of walmart is 512 GB SSD, RAM upgrade, charging by USB-C and multiple monitors is confirmed. But this one has powerful processor ( I dont need) but backlit (I need). Can someone please chime in? TIA
You're gonna have to priortize what you can live with and what you CANNOT live with. I am in the same EXACT boat as you are and I've decided to keep the $379 laptop deal from Wally.

I for example rather have all the pluses (less than $400, 512 SSD, upgrade RAM available, USB C charge, Ryzen 5 4500U, display ports to 4K 60Hz) and one or 2 minuses (250 bit screen, backlit keyboard for example) available for under $400

versus spending more than $400 for more "perks" that a bit better than the one from Wally. Why spend more $ when you know you do not need nor use all of the specs?

Overall, it very hard to find a less than $400 laptop with great specs deal that can dethrone it. nit picky and being cheap don't always go together and this is the case. If you're gonna be nit picky on specs you gotta be OK to spend more. can't put a price on happiness. no such things as perfect husband/wife for crying out loud. trade offs is normal and healthy to have.

I got the base at 400
I want to upgrade 2x16gb ddr and to a 512ssd
Anyone doing same or looking similar on BF/CM? Seems folks are set that can expand the RAM. I'd rather do myself than pay upfront

"No USB-C (PD) charging and no DP over USB-C output" -> Is that confirmed? I would liek to know as well. I have the walmart one with no backlit and ordered this one. Will help me decide though I really want to backlit.

Thanks. Hope that information in manual is correct. Is the RAM soldered or can it be upgraded too? Also is there a spare slow to add an addition SSD or hard drive? TIA
Two sodimm slots upgradeable to 64GB with two 32GB modules

I'd like to know about the extra SATA as well. Also to know if RAM is soldered.
