My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

my noon is still 36min away. I'm being optimistic! But seriously, if they arrive this week, I'm perfectly fine. But my only gripe is I wish the tracking/order status was more accurate. If they were, we wouldn't be here talking about all this.

I still haven't gotten my tracking number. Is anyone else in the same boat? I know many got a status on their tracking according to the recents comments here. I ordered at 3:52 PM EST if that helps.

What does it show in your HP account?
I ordered a half hour before you and got my tracking number email (and for one ordered about 10am) on Saturday.

The page just tells me the order number. Then a "timeline" or shipment 1/1 status where only "ORDER CONFIRMED" is checked and underneath when I bought it. Then it says the details on the laptop like estimated shipping date and customized option, etc. And everything else after like the details on the price and shipping and payment. But, I don't see anywhere on the page about any tracking number. Where is it located exactly for you? Also, I didn't make an account under them. I just use their "Order status" page where I have to put my order number and other stuff.

Just did some googling - there was no fedex flight from Anchorage to other airports in USA yesterday after the custom clearance. There is flight today that would leave at 3:20 pm local time (7:20 EST) that would arrive early morning tomorrow in Memphis. And then flights will go different locations for final destinations.

So, 23rd would be earliest if the laptop was stuck in Alaska and made on today's out flight.

Long chat w an agent this morning. Here was the gist "I've exhausted my resources and despite our best effort to finish the order as first stated, seems like we encountered production delay. Your order is on it's assembly process and we now expect your order to ship on a revised ESTIMATED date of 1/04/2020." Asked for expedited shipping since my laptop was clearly not assembled and since they couldn't provide a firmer ETA - at least upgrading the shipping would go some way to alleviate the frustration of it not arriving on time. I was given a no can do since they couldn't change the order. My original order was on 27th at 11:00am EST btw. I can understand some delay but this amounts to extreme incompetence. These folks have the worst customer service operation I've seen in years.

Well we already knew HP cust serv sucked rocks, but the price was right.
