Unable to upgrade your edition
We can't activate Windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or product key. If you think you do have a valid license or key, select Troubleshoot below. (0x803fa067)

I have Pro on my PC from my windows 8 pro key. Like others mentioned, trying to get bitlocking on my laptop.
Are you saying you have Windows 8 Pro on your machine? If so, you can upgrade to Win 10 Pro free of charge.

$5 or less on eBay. Ends up always being free when eBay cancels it afterward anyway. By then you usually already have received the code lol.
I was waiting for someone to post the same message. 2+ years and still going strong on these Microsoft VL codes.

Updated my reply. I upgraded 8 pro to 10 pro free on desktop, but my laptop has 10home, and I want that to be pro

Lol I can't believe you people are falling for this. It's just the same OEM codes you can get for $3 on ebay. At that point you might as well use HWID to activate it for free. Microsoft isn't seeing a penny of the money either way.

For those asking... I bought a Windows 10 Pro key and Windows complained that it was invalid. Contacted Cleverbridge and they responded very quickly (in the middle of the night, no less) with a different key. Windows 10 Pro now up and running happily.

I have no idea how legit these keys are or whatever, but it worked out fine for me in the end.

If I have an old PC that I upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 but no longer use, can I transfer that key to a different PC for a clean install?
You should be able to. I've done the same in the past, but had to go through the automated phone verification process with those keys.

$1-$3??? Not even close. Link?
ebay is one place to look, deals are not posted just because you arrived at the site, you have to actively look for them.

you can also check other sites, and sites outside of the US [gamers-outlet.net]. just make sure you are not using your credit card . . . one must always use a gift card or something equivalent.

you can also search CL for old PC boxes that came with Win7 . . . be creative

These are not OEM codes, at least the Pro version listed. Unlike most of you, I was forced to authenticate my code directly with Microsoft, as I stated, and it's the full retail version (transferrable to any computer, if you move on from your current OEM Home installation). I was 100% honest with Microsoft, told them where I got it, the price, the tech even said it was a great deal. If they ever give me any crap, I've got the reference ID, but everything on their side checks out - it's authentic, and retailer legit.

Not likely, if your Win8 machine was bought pre-installed with Windows by the manufacturer (OEM version). If it's OEM, the license is attached to the motherboard, and can't be transferred.

Yes but why would you want to? Gain domain access and bitlocker? If you are thinking of increasing your memory you will need to wipe and load. You can't upgrade 32 bit to 64. That alone you should buy this and image 64bit so you can have more memory.
BitLocker nice to have no?

Sell your inferior Home OS elsewhere. Pro is amazing. Well worth the money. Best investment you can make
