Sprint is already owned by T-Mobile, just not fully rebranded yet, so you would not be a new customer or switching to T-Mobile. If you ported your number to a different carrier it would have to be away from TMO for a longer period to qualify as a new line, and get related promos. Otherwise it would be a "winback" or subscriber who decided against canceling for whatever reason. I think it is 90 days for TMO... maybe 60? Hope that helps you decide what to do!
I have an older prepaid line that shouldn't be from the T-mobile family that I might try to use instead...

I miss the days when Costco would match the offers with a full-price rebate.
1.port over number to google voice (48 to 96 hours to port.
2.cancle account with current phone provider.
3.open new account with Tmobile and ask them to port over from google voice number.
Will they allow this for multiple lines and numbers? Thanks.
