I bought the smart tab M8 with dock, expecting it to be a more flexible alternative to the Google nest hub.

It was slow to respond, the low percentage of the time it actually did.
Any reason to expect this to be any better?

got it this morning, no signature required, just personal contact is sufficient. Love the dock already, video streaming is fine and speakers are loud. The audio could be better but I'm still playing with it. Perhaps my best BF deal even if I didn't really need a third tablet. Very similar to my Samsung Tab A7 but the sammy has better speakers. However I can cast easily to my google home audio devices on both. The Sammy might have been getting jealous, it just updated android 10 this morning. The Lenovo is lighter to hold so that will be a big plus with dock nearby for streaming TV. The extra storage will help, I'm sure I'll find more apps to try out on it, maybe even a game or two.

I usually try to conserve battery with Bluetooth off but since it's docked I have it connected to my old refurbed Echo for better sound. Easy to say "echo mute' or unmute when you need to. I have a USB C hub with HDMI out if MHL works. Better than the Fire HD10 when all my android apps work flawlessly.

Mine was delivered this afternoon as well. First impressions are great. Very lightweight and looks amazing.
Couple of concerns, based on first impressions:
1. sound is very tinny. so you would like an external Bluetooth speaker for good media experience.
2. I also ordered Lenovo Folio case. But Case is not compatible with provided docking station. Which is poor design in my opinion, as case is specifically designed for this tablet.
I specifically did not want Samsung Tablet due to the fact Samsung loads so much unwanted app on their phones/tablet and you end up having multiple apps doing same tasks.
This Lenovo tablet gives pretty close to vanilla Android experience, which I prefer.

Does anyone know of a cast that is compatible with the dock?

I can only find this case which looks like those rugged kids [amazon.com] cases. The upside is that its made of food grade silicone, so I guess I could eat it if it does not work out Wink.

I do not see why a normal folio case could not be made that leaves the dock area exposed.

funny you should mention that, I was just looking up ambient mode. You have to jump through a lot of menus to get to it. Here is the scoop. https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews...-plus-2020
