This is the 8GB card. Looks like the 4GB one for 150 is sold out.
This black Friday hasn't been great for GPU deals but i guess this is a deal for a medium card.
why has BF been so bad and why are so many mid tier cards sold out? like the 1660, 5500, 5600, etc.??
People on slickdeals have been saying that we should wait until Black Friday and for all of the new GPU model release announcments...... was a mistake!

Since people couldn't get any of the new cards, all the lower tier, available cards were snatched up to tide people over. Plus, PC gaming has gained a ton of popularity lately.

this year is different. with almost all chips are manufacture by tsmc, their capacity cannot satisfy everyone. I bet tsmc spent most of their capacity making chips for apple. I can see shortage for everything else in gpus and amd cpu.

The COVID left a lot of unknowns. I wouldn't be surprised if manufacturers at the time eased up on production with the strict COVID regulations regarding workers and enough spacing to avoid the spread. As such could not produce as much as previous. Hence the shortage. COVID also tend to INCREASE demand on the need for PC and aiding most people to get by with fun times on the screen since they cannot go outside.
Those two factors alone resulted in this price increase. So yes waiting for BF was a mistake but hindsight is 20/20. I say just roll with it.. and if you can wait until the COVID Vaccine comes which may be a year or two.. get by with what you have.. otherwise if you have a need to buy stuff this year and maybe the next might not have been as productive for slickdealers as it was a year or two ago. Enjoy what you can, support the economy and buy stuff if you can, try to budget within your means. That's the least patriotic thing to do.
depends on your PSU. 1650 requires less power but has poorer performance. The 5500 XT comes with 8GB of vram so it will future proof you better than 6GB and it uses a newer bus interface for faster speed.
But if your PSU couldn't handle the power draw (5500 XT takes 130W usually recommends a 500W PSU), get the 1650 and prepare to get another card and new psu in 2-3 years.
Ideally, if your power can handle this card, you should probably go for 1660 TI, unless you need AMD specifically for a specific build.

Well not sure your source for advice was the most advisable.....
Last I read, the RX 5500 didn't do VP9 HW decoding because AMDs drivers are terrible. Has that changed?
I can't speak to the rx 5500 but I recently bought the rx 570 after almost a decade with Nvidia. I regret it so much because of the drivers. Stay away! As soon as 3060 is available I'm jumping back to Nvidia and never looking back.

Does $20 a month cover the electricity bill you generate mining? What's your margin monthly?
Lol...nice detail, "the drivers" oh ok will do.
