Real-life drama at the beach ... Rammy's in trouble again ... apparently the wife doesn't like me taking pictures of other women

24,862 1,948 July 22, 2009 at 10:01 AM in Cameras
Amongst the ~200 photos I took last week at the beach, I snapped 3-4 pictures of some hotties that were walking up and down the beach. The wife took great offense to this and I thought it was playful at first but (as women are apt to do) an argument ensued which turned into her giving me the cold, silent treatment for the next 24 hours. She indicated I was "to take pictures of only her & the kids".

Disrespectful? Immature? In hindsight a little, but in her words "I'm married, I'm not dead". I wasn't peeping through a peephole at some ESPN hottie, I was taking a picture of someone strolling a few yards in front of me proudly displaying the goods that God gave her. Just how insecure can she be?

Is this a potential for a double standard? The wife had a massage at a day spa from a "young surfer dude" who was checking her out. Do I come out with the directive "no man can touch you except for me at any time". To take it to another level, shouldn't I be able to get lap dances (I don't btw) without feeling guilty. I agree that's extreme, but give me a break.

I thought things had cooled down the next day or two (makeup OTs) but then out of the blue the wife went through and deleted the pictures on my camera - which simply pissed me off. The following is all that's left. It was intended to be a humorous presentation to the lounge: (a) picture of hotties, (b) picture of wife holding up hand in front of camera, (c) picture of ocean as wife punched hubby in stomach.

tsk tsk. jj let me break it down for u cuz i like u.

when rammy took those pics it was like a slap in the face to the wife. WHY?
because she gave HIM her youth. Her hot young youthful body was given to HIM. She gave him all these years....had his kid/s,,,,,sctretch and changed her youthful body.....which can never be recovered for HIM. and for him to take a pic of some chic is like wanting to preserve that chics youthful beauty. DID THE ASSHOLE TAKE A PIC OF THE WIFE IN A BIKINI?!!!!! (sorry rammy....i got issues.) but do u have pics of the wife in a bikini????? i bet u dont.
But he still loves her. It doesn't have to be a slap on the face.

To me, random people is part of the scenery. It's not as if he spends every night pleasuring himself to porn and ignoring his wife. That is not right.

What about art? Are men allowed to admire an artistic painting or photo of an attractive woman, or is that a slap on the face too? I guess I would consider Rammy's photo's to be closer to art than arousal material. But my attitude is that woman are a beautiful creation, and their body can be admired in a nonsexual way.

Do I have pictures of my ex wife in a bikini? I don't have them anymore. I let her go through all our family pictures and take what she wanted. She took basically all of them, which was fine.

Rammy forget tearing out the last 10 pages of her romance novels - use a black marker and cross out all the naughty saucy bits so they cant be read.'

If she'd just been going through the camera and deleted a picture of a bird would it be such a big deal? 'Cause it's the same right?

Yes it would. To me at least, but I'm biased (photography is a hobby of mine). If he took the picture than he should decide to keep or delete it, not his wife (regardless of the picture).

... and I continue to provide her protection, security, and financial assistance that was given to HER exclusively when we were married. Two way street hon.

Actually yes it was the action of going through his stuff that was the worse part. If you go through your husbands pant pockets and find something that is suspicious does it make it right that you went through his pockets.

If she deleted it without asking, yes. It is the same thing.
Why delete someone else's photos?

So i dont get it - you having fantasies about your husbands boss and what youd do to him is fine (people you both know) but Rammy taking a pic of a total stranger on the beach that has no sexual meaning to him is terrible right ?
RIGHT. Boss is not some 18 year old with a six pack. Which hubby is'nt anymore. AND i'm not bringing home pics to CAPTURE the moment. But that entirely OT which i cant go into.

Well I go through his pants pockets all the time. It's called laundry. And if there's something suspicious there, that's his problem not anything wrong on my part.

I guess that just wouldn't be a big deal to me. If there was a picture I really liked for some sentimental value (not a hot guy Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)) and my husband deleted it (and knew I really liked that picture) then I'd be mad. Otherwise, we both go through - especially when on vacation - and delete pictures all the time. Usually just to free up room on the sd card. This whole 'mine' attitude does feel a little controlling and odd, though. I just don't understand it.

nod Purchased for her trip to Antarctica, but using our joint credit card. Items like this are "ours" and we pay for jointly (even if I don't consult with her first - just use proper judgment).

I'll give you an example a women can understand.

You bought a new cooking pan (that's what those things are called right?), your husband decides he doesn't like it because it's ugly/out-of-focus/too-big/not-the-right-color and throws it out. Would you be mad?

If you answer "yes", I'd say "this whole 'mine' attitude does feel a little controlling and odd, though. I just don't understand it." Stick Out Tongue
