I'm not sure if it's clear to everyone that this deal applies to all the Breville espresso machines that Williams-Sonoma sells.

Here's the rundown:

Bambino — $240
Bambino Plus — $320
Barista Express — $480
Barista Pro — $560
Barista Touch — $720
Oracle Touch — $2,000

Fantastic deals, in my opinion.

My personal experience is with the Bambino Plus, which I think is a great little machine. With this discount you could pair a Bambino or Bambino Plus with a very nice grinder for a total price in the $400 to $600 range. The cool thing about that is you're going to be able to get a much nicer grinder than the one that they put in the Express and the Pro — which is considered the weak link in those particular machines. You're going to hear the experts say again and again that the key to getting good espresso is a nice grinder. I've also never been crazy about having the grinder and the espresso machine combined into one unit. It sorts of limits your flexibility, but that's just me.

Really though, I don't think you can go wrong with any of these machines. It all depends on your budget.

This might be the cheapest price ever. Hoppin on this before it goes, will research afterwards lol.

Edit: The Touch is Wirecutter's upgrade recommendation. The steam wand is top notch and that's something I've had issues with in the past with other machines, so I'm sticking with it.

Caution: this and the BE are gateway machines that will likely lead you down a path of an expensive hobby/habit. I've had my BE 6 yrs and will be upgrading shortly to start the next chapter of my espresso journey.

Save the money and get the express. In my opinion, where I could afford either, the express is all you'll ever need. Going on year 4 without a hiccup.
Seems like touch is easier though and express requires more manual efforts?

The next is to upgrade to a rancilio grinder and if you're really into it, maybe something from the La Marzocco brand. Applause But it's definitely not a slickdeals. Be prepared for your wallet to be empty.

It really comes down to what you want to get out of the machine. To oversimplify it, if you're looking for less maintenance, more reliability long term, and better coffee go with this machine.

If you're looking for something that's more likely to break, requires less involvement making a drink, and brews inferior coffee, go for the Phillips.
What do you base that on? All of the reviews I have read and seen have the Philips as superior. SCG even prefers this. If you have actual info aside from opinion I would like to see it. I can elucidate on the internals and the "Lattego" innovation and why it actually produces a more reliable machine.

in the fine print it seems to exclude sale items, which appears this is.

If you're looking for something to keep long term, the Gaggia.
If you're looking for a stepping stone before your next machine... can't go wrong with either.

Superautos are nice. Even having a PID double boiler a super auto is still convenient.
