How many times is this same deal going to be reposted? I keep having to repost the warning to go along with it:

This switch is activated through the cloud and cannot be used as a smart switch in a local only mode, if you care about that sort of thing.

What are some switches that can be used locally?

Installed mine in new house. Worked fine with the lights. Then plugged a vacuum into an outlet that I did not know what wired to the same circuit/switch. As soon as I turned the vacuum on the switch died (within seconds). I'm assume that is normal for a vacuum to kill this type of switch?

If wired improperly sure. I have 10+ of these and have had no issues.

That is kind of what I am asking. I did not know the outlet was also wired to the same. So is it normal for the amps/current drawn from a vacuum, to kill this dimmer switch?

I watched a bunch of home assistant videos in the past.. I think it might be alittle too much programing and configuring for me lol.. I do have a smartthings hub, do you know if will still work if my internet went out? Like routines and different schedules.

There is a difference between same circuit and being inline - are you saying your dimmer switch was controlling the power to a regular outlet (as opposed to a permanently wired light fixture) - that would be a very unusual configuration.

There is nothing wrong with having a dimmer on the same circuit as outlets but the dimmer should not be controlling the outlets.

What does that mean? Sorry for the noob question, but what doesn't mean that you can't use them locally? I'm totally confused.
I'm thinking maybe I should cancel my order.

The Costco deal is better. Feit 3 packs of smart dimmers that support 3 way applications are $25. Online only. $20 for two packs in store. I've installed a few and they work great and the app is good enough. Connects to Google Alexa etc.
