I have this phone. I like it. Except for the fact that it doesn't seem like you can turn off 5G.
You can. Mobile networks -> network mode

iphone 6s released on Sept 2015 is listed as trade-in for $115 while Samsung Note-5 released Aug 2015 is not in the list. Samsung itself do not consider its product worth for trade-in.
Time to stop buying Samsung?

Funny that yesterday s20+ for 300 bucks got thumb downs like no tomorrow, and this clearly inferior deal got so many thumb ups.

What is the purpose of doing that? I looked at it and it doesn't just have a setting to turn off 5G. It just has another group of connections without 5G in the group. If you have the group with 5G selected doesn't it just connect at LTE, 3G or 2G if there is no 5G around?
Depends on where you are, using 5 g can be a lot slower than 4g.

For me ,There are many parts of NY where the 4g speed is over 3 times faster than the poor 5 g signal.

So I stay with the one with 4g band
Picking the 4g one will retain every other setting except uses purely 4g and not 5g. (5g drains more battery as well )

That is how you tell the note 20 ultra phone to use just 4g not 5g

100% agree about trading-in. Be very careful about trading in with Samsung directly...document everything and prepare to fight for the value of your trade-in. I've traded in a phone before with no problems but my last trade-in was rejected and reason was "blacklisted." I've check the blacklisted databases and my phone was not listed. My phone was a brand new...they gave me partial trade-in value. I had to fight to get the full credit..felt like time wasted compared to what more you could do in daily life... I think Samsung uses a shady 3rd party to assess the condition of the phones...be forewarned.
Yes they do use a 3rd party to assess the phone. I had the same issue when I traded in for my S10+ and they declined it and I sent them recordings and records and they overturned the rejection of the trade in. I was able to jump on this deal for a family member and the trade in went smoothly. But yeah, the stress of having to prepare the trade in is pretty high...

The deal here is people with old phones can swappa it with minimal out of pocket, and get a brand new phone with warranty and original receipt.

Why did you turn off the 5G? Is it spotty in certain areas because the technology is still so new? This is what I've read online. People will turn off their 5G if they are having that issue. But the Ultra is future proof in that it does have the better 5G chip inside.
There are many parts of where I live where 5g is more than 3 times slower then the well established 4g .

For 5g to work well, you have to be v close to 5g antenna towers. Just bad coverage right now

Does turning off 5g save considerable battery life?
From the people who bench test phones , result shows 5g drains much more battery than 4g.

Thanks. I don't use my phone outside the house that much since I have a Gear S2 watch that has it's own number and calls to my phone are forwarded to the watch, but if I notice a problem I might try switching.

Trade in an android 5.1 smart phone. But the trade in expert said it is not a smart phone. Charge me $75 in 7 days.

Samsung notorious for realizing Apple resale's for more, did the same with s7 and iP6
