how did u requested unlock fro tmobile? call or chat?
It should unlock automatically after 72-96hours once placing the Tmobile sim, if it doesnt then you need to call/chat and ask them to create service request....

Anyone know if this phone can be rooted or unlock the bootloader?
Never root/unlock bootloader on a Samsung device. This trips the Knox e-fuse which cannot be undone, even by undoing the changes. This permanently destroys Samsung Pay, which is the best thing about Samsung phones (being able to pay Contactless on credit card terminals that don't accept Contactless payments).

did you have to open the box / activate the phone to get it to unlock ?
No, you just give them the IMEI.

Could we use a non-T-Mobile SIM card with the phone while we waiting it's unlocked?

I have a 5-year-old moto E, ideal for trade-in. But the resale value for A71 has become so low ($280 for new ones on swa pa), it's probably no longer worth the effort, let alone fees & shipping.

I got the phone unlocked within 80hours from Tmobile and sold on offerup for 300...it depends on your local market. Even checkout swappa

I knew groupon doesn't stack from this tread but bought it after dallace_marable said it works. (it doesn't) Hopefully, phone turns out a good upgrade from Pixel 3a and I don't need to return.

P.S. Just saw a high 10% CB on RKTN, I've missed but you don't miss Wink

Well, you asked about how to initiate the unlock, not how to verify it. You can only verify by opening it or having backend access. Also, in this case, if you were to resell it to someone, they actually need to unlock it themselves in the phone settings, but it needs to be allowed on the network. But to initiate the unlock on the TMUS network you just give them the IMEI.

However, best would be to open after 72h and unlock it to make sure it works. It id in my case. But it's not like with an iPhone where it happens automatically on the network.

This phone is HUGE.

Anyone know how to remove the T-Mobile welcome screen and debloat this or but a fresh clean Android on it?
