Not true. Just reach out to @tmobilehelp on Twitter via DM with the imei and they'll unlock it for you. I just did it last week. No special approach required. The unlock was successful in 8 hours.

A71 5g unlocked is the same price using groupon code ($25 for $125 coupon). I prefer unlocked version.

Seems like worst case scenario you'd get $100 off anyway after paying the $25 but not be able to stack with the $20 credit. Assuming you can't just get it refunded since it says you have 3 days but I'd guess you have to redeem first and that cancels return policy.

I bought two of these for my kids for Christmas. Traded in a generic android phone both times for $75 each. So, my cost was $200 per phone.

Phones are nice. Huge screen. Does not have wireless charging, but ships with a fast charger.
