HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-0023w - this has come around a few times. Previous thread had some people getting Ryzen 5 3600's. I wouldn't expect that this time around.
This is suitable for light gaming. It should be able to play most games at 1080p with decent settings. Some games it wouldn't be suitable for though and it would be incumbent on the buyer to research hardware requirements of the game(s) they like. May want to add another stick of RAM to bring it to 16gb.

If you want to try your hand at refurb it could come in stock at
Walmart [walmart.com],
VIP Outlet Grade A [vipoutlet.com],
VIP Outlet Grade B [vipoutlet.com],
eBay [ebay.com], and various other outlets. VIP Outlet has coupons sometimes as well - I believe it was had there for about $425 at various times in the past.

lol - this is clearly not a beast gaming computer. Suitable for a light/medium 1080p gamer though.
It should be able to play most games at 1080p with decent settings. Some games it wouldn't be suitable for though and it would be incumbent on the buyer to research hardware requirements of the game(s) they like.
To make this a 'gaming' computer would require a new case, motherboard, memory, psu, cpu cooler, All of which would already be purchased for the same price in a custom build.
TLDR as an entry-level 'gaming' computer if a buyer never plans to upgrade this is 'fine', but purchasing this without knowing that the cost difference for actual gaming parts would be tragic.
I mean it clearly doesn't play minesweeper, it's not on the checklist.
A new case to make it more "gaming ready"? You kids and your RGB...

Yes, comes with MS-DOS and Solataire compatible!
Sell the existing ram stick for $20-$30, pickup 2 8GB sticks at 3200mhz for the $55-$70 range (maine differences here are rgb or not, and timings. Aim for CL16, which is easy in this price range)
Now, once you install them, it will most likely default to 2400mhz, but no worries. Use Ryzen Master to adjust them to their rated 3200mhz. If you're lucky you may even be able to run them at lower timings, but your goal is to get them to their rated 3200mhz. Ryzen favors fast memory, and this will give you a nice little boost in games and productivity over just adding another 2666mhz stick.
The 1650 will handle most games at 1080p High. Some newer will run around Medium settings, while the older the game, the higher you can play, even being able to play older esports titles at 4k High/Max if wanted(LoL, DotA2, Rocket League, etc)
He's basically saying everything else except for the CPU and GPU sucks. And to replace anything else, a new case would be needed because of proprietary parts.
