Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

90-day fi requirement, so another $70, total $500 with tax. Not bad. can I add a line to my current fi account ?
Yea. Just go to your google fi account website, click SHOP and the deal is available to existing customers. The 2nd line drops it to $15 per month rather than $20 per month too.... I have lot of google fi credit so I am debating whether I should get this phone. I am very happy with my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G though and it has a 6.7" screen rather than a 6.2" screen too..... $399 is a great deal though with these specs. The S20 5G is definitely the better phone but I am just not sure if it is worth the upgrade for me right now. The S20 5G has Dex support though and I am quite interested in that.

Not likely. Cricket will probably block the port out.

I think it's a no-brainer given you can recuperate the costs of the A71 by selling it on the secondary market. You get to burn some Fi credits and have a device that is much more desireable / tradeable in the future.

Exactly why I was thinking of adding instead of new account. But can I close the first line shortly after adding this line? I assume that will bump up the line cost to $20? I only have about $20 fi credit remaining so it's a wash with ref credit on new account

I am sure you can transfer your phone number but you better make sure that if you have any promotions (like $200 off) that you may have gotten from a past google fi deal are fully cleared before you make a purchase.

why you say that? i actually still have 22 more days to go on earlier promo? what does that have to do with adding a new line? I am confused.. how can i tell diff between adding a line vs switching to a diff phone on same line? i do not want to do latter yet as i still have 22 days to go on old promo. Can i just sit on this device after purchase until that promo completes and then activate this on the same line? that would be ideal for me.

You must click every option.... After you click every option, the continue button suddenly appears and you click that.

how do you differentiate between adding a line vs just buying a new phone on same line?

Yea. Forget about transferring over that phone number then. You must fulfill that promotion and use that PHONE for 22 more days. You don't want to get hit with a $200 bill later.

I got 42 more ACTIVE days needed for a Moto G Power phone.... $49 purchase.

If I don't keep that Moto G Power phone active for 42 more days, I will be hit with a $200 bill later.

so if i have a current line that needs to be active for another 22 days, can i purchase this phone via the SHOP button and sit on it for 25 days (when prev promo is satisfied) then activate it on same line? or does activation mean adding a line?

Got the OnePlus 7T on 2nd Dec. With B&H's extended return for Holidays I might be able to return it and get S20. Very tempting.

I do like the bigger screen on the 7T though. But the S20 brings a lot more feature.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
