Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

Yes, S21's specs are better than S20's.
It depends which specs are important to you.

Lower resolution screen, less RAM and removal of sd-card slot against a faster CPU/GPU and better battery life.

When should you use the referral link? During the phone purchase OR activate the service?

It is expected to have esim + nano sim but I don't think we will know if the esim is enabled in the US firmware until we start getting hands on impressions from local reviewers.

I like the s20 overall esp. about its size and expandable storage. But the single sim is keeping me from pulling the trigger...

Is it safe to put your own sim in the S20 after you take the FI sim out? I don't want to spend 400 but cannot use the phone for 3 months
Then don't buy it and risk them charging full price. I'm sure you can use your current phone for a little while longer. As soon as S21 comes out in a few weeks, just watch the S20 drop.

For people who ordered a porting number from Numberbarn, how long did it take to get your number?

The website said 3-20 business days. I ordered my phone today, wanted to see if I should order from Numberbarn now, or wait until I get the phone?

Thanks

People who don't want to fulfill the requirements of the 90 days google fi service and swapping the sims or messing with the e-sims are playing with fire with that $600 off promotion. Do not even risk messing up that $600 promotion..... Google Fi will happily charge your credit card $600 once you mess up the 5 step promotion process.

I am doing the Google Fi promotion with $200 off from November and I am not gonna mess that up.... 38 days left. Let all the days tick away before you want to swap out the sim card.
I would certainly confirm with someone in their customer support that there won't be a problem either.

$700 trade in for this phone ain't bad. Dunno if they'll hold for 3 months tho. I'd also like to know if the s21 has any bugs eg spontaneous combustion and all.

Just reserved one for giggles::

You're all set. Thanks for your Galaxy reservation!
You'll have an additional $50 instant credit for accessories. Get an extra $10 when you complete your pre-order in the Android Shop Samsung App.

I have a family Plan grand fathered Simple Choice with T-Mobile (2 lines).
a) Can I port the numbers to Google Fi (as it also uses T-Mo network primarily)
b) Can I avail of this feature sale?
c) The S20 that is being sold, I think it is Unlocked US version, but is it capable of network switching?
d) Once I get the new phone and activate, then will the porting process start to take 3-20 business days from the time of activation? What will be the number during the 3-20 days period. Will there be temporary number(s)?

Hmm! The following page says

You'll start the transfer once you have your phone. Here's how long transfers usually take to complete:

84% of transfers: Less than 15 minutes.
13% of transfers: Between 15 minutes and 24 hours.
3% of transfers: More than 1 day.
Note: Transfers from Google Voice or Republic Wireless can take up to 24 hours.

https://support.google.com/fi/ans...our-number

So no idea how one of the members in this thread said 3-20 days..

Thanks..

Any confirmations that Google Voice port-ins qualify specifically for this promo? In the Pixel 4a thread, folks have been talking about some kind of countdown timer. Does porting in a GV # trigger your countdown timer? Thanks!

Can we start the port in process to qualify for the promotion as soon as we order and before the shipment confirmation email?

"You must also bring/transfer your number to Fi within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email. Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not eligible."

You can enter the details, but the actual process starts when you receive the phone and activate the service

Lot of people got the phones to resell (using spare phone lines not really using Fi service except min $20/mo) -- sale price and high trade in values

I'm going to switch my 4a5g to another phone on 61st day then pause service and try to sell the phone -- traded in my Galaxy S8

Haven't tried recently but in the past it needed to be a new Fi account -- if you're trying to use it with an old Fi account
I got 4a 5g too last promo. 15 days left I traded in s8 as well.
Anyway can I get this if I add another line to my existing fi account? With no port. Or do I need to activate on the exisiting number?
